YouTube just granted me the ability to A/B test thumbnails, but I didn't want to attempt that for the first time on anything as important to me as my HermitCraft series.

So, anyway, my kid watches a lot of #LaurynZside videos and those thumbnails have a very distinct style, so I had some fun today making some parody thumbnails of those for an upcoming indie game video I'm releasing midday on Friday. I've redacted the game screenshots so you can take your guesses about what I played! So break from Tumblr, I went off to learn how to do better at media analysis and get a bigger brain. I developed a bit of a thing for watching video essays. And because talking about your special interests is pretty cool actually, I've started to do it as a thing for fun.

So far I have a few scripts in the works. I'm focusing on a lot of things that make me feel hopeful. Mostly about video games, mostly about finding my feet. I like to think about things that make me happy, and why they do.

But also, one thing I really like to do is make thumbnail art. After being a designer for 10 plus years, I've gotten a bit of a knack for it.

I also have another script lined up for Metal Gear Solid, and another for Alan Wake.

Anyway. Making video thumbnails is fun and I can't wait to talk about these games with everyone. Except Control. Which is a video you can now watch, with your eyes.
