Not a comforting thought. Mael actually really liked Hancock. They hadn’t known each other long, but the elf was a good sort. He swallowed. Fuck it, if anyone was worth outing himself Hancock was.
“Stay with me, mate. I can help. I can- I can heal you.”
He held out his hand, a gentle blue glow held between his fingers. Hancock would survive this. And whether they were still friends after this… well, he would deal with that later.
The elf had made it pretty far on his own, dragging himself well off the road and into the forest before eventually collapsing against a tree. This was not the way he’d expected to spend the morning, his people were all dead or scattered, his town burning, and there wasn’t much hope for himself either, more than one arrow sticking from his back and a gaping wound in his gut that was sure to kill him without magical intervention.
“You..... wha?” Between the pain and the dizziness, Hancock wasn’t sure he’d heard that right, brows furrowing in confusion as he looked down at the other’s hand. Realization crossed his features a moment later. “Fuck, I..... ma serannas, lethallin. My life is yours, I’m in your debt.”
