Do all of the Sacred Treasures have a seal on them to restrain their true forms. Such as how Fireseal becomes a massive sword composed entirely of magical flames when Sol goes all-out?
At the moment there isn’t enough information to say if they do or not.
Even with something like Flashing Fang, all we really know is that it was a “part” that was used to enhance the Firesealed Sword when Sol upgraded it.
We know next to nothing about the Baikal or Dominator, or even the nameless ones, to really say what they’re fully capable of.
All we really know for certain is that each is potentially dangerous on its own, that’s why the Conclave had many of them sealed away.
Furthermore we don’t really know why the OutRage are connected with Gears in the first place.
The only real piece of knowledge stems from the Saint Oratorio Project, which Sol was originally going to be a part of a research team on.
Saint Oratorio is “technically” the most powerful spell in human knowledge, so the OutRage are, by extension, meant to “control” the spell, at least from a technical standpoint.
But again, Saint Oratorio is basically synonymous with Gamma Ray: it’s way too powerful for any one person (human or otherwise) to safely control without limiting its output in some capacity.
And considering the destruction caused by a +40 max output Gamma Ray that destroyed Japan, leaving a gaping hole in the Pacific Ocean, any OutRage part is just as dangerous potentially, no matter how small.
It’s about the equivalent of trying to understand the individual parts that make a Thermonuclear Weapon function.
Assuming based on current evidence from the recent gameplay videos that Ky's sword is Thunderseal, why does it look different? Did Ky modify it or did it "evolve" itself in a similar manner to Sol's Fireseal sword during the Baptisma 13 incident?
Ky said the sword was gradually “regenerating” during Revelator’s events, so most likely Ky’s fighting style and aesthetics influenced the current shape of the sword.
Just a reminder, OutRage typically have no “absolute form” and take a shape that best suits their user, though there is some cost involved, it’s a reasonable price to pay for those skilled in Magic Arts like Ky is.
So far, only Sol is the one who knows the true nature of the OutRage and their extensive abilities, since he built them.
No, the quote is not one of those, it’s brand new. I can’t share the link here because Tumblr said that a link can’t be inserted in a question, I tried just now, so I tell you the name of the video on YouTube, ok? Search: Raw Gameplay: Guilty Gear Strive (ArcREVO 2019 Demo)
Okay. Found it. Thanks.
Still, a lot of things are up in the air and pending changes to the final version of the game… so please bear that in mind.
That said, Woolie made some good videos this time around so I’ll probably post them here under the Loketest tag and GG+Mechanics tag.
Until things are 100% confirmed, I’ll file this under the Unconfirmed+Info tag.
Is the time seal that Ky used to stop Dizzy's disintegration similar in nature to the one That Man used to punish I-No in GGXX Midnight Carnival, or the one used by Raven to trap her in AC+?
I’d assume not, because Sol created the OutRage and understands its basic functions, and although “That Man” might have had some hand in working with OutRage technology, he uses a magic that exceeds Sol’s capabilities initially.
The reason being that “That Man” has been residing in the Backyard for a while and has been learning how to use it, unlike Sol, who has only just gotten attuned to it recently.
It’s unclear if Raven knows magic just as well as “That Man” though.
Do you think the Thundersealed Sword's secondary function of Temporal Stasis has played a significant part in Ky's manipulation of Lightning Magic (like for his electrical constructs like Sacred Edge?)
If you’re asking if Ky used the Thundersealed Sword to develop his techniques like Stun Edge, Sacred Edge, Durandal, etc… that ‘might’ be true… but that is not necessarily how he formed the techniques, since he can still use these attacks even without it, as evidenced when he used the Aquila and later the Magnolia Eclair II swords.
We know next to nothing about spatial manipulation or even temporal manipulation or even how it relates to the OutRage, so unless more information can be given… there isn’t much to say, except that it relates to the Backyard.
I know the answer is wait for the future but is there anything to ruminate over how they never brought up what happened to the thunderseal after they undid the seal of the maiden? Is it possible it was consumed in casting that spell or there might be a more involved process in reforming it? Also they never explained how they stopped the maiden's deterioration once outside of the seal.
According to current info in GGXrd’s Library, the Thundersealed Sword appears to be locked deep underground beneath Illyria’s Castle.
That’s all that’s been said.
I can’t say what its current status is, or if Ky will ever use it again.
As for Dizzy, according to VastEdge she broke out… and was speaking with Ky and Sin during GGXrd’s events… that’s all that can be said at the moment.
Dr. Paradigm said during GG2 that he would do something about Dizzy’s seal later… but it’s unclear if he did anything to assist her during the events of VastEdge.
That’s about all that can be said on both topics at the moment.
After freeze framing the new trailer a number of times, it does look like that Sol's new sword encases the Fuenken. I see a rectangular blade with the brace the three circles in a triangle formation. Do you think the same kind of modifications are done on the Furaiken?
I can't really say for certain. I've already observed a few things about the OutRage itself, but again, I don't want to delve in to too much speculation.
Sol's current weapon is labeled "Junkyard Dog Mk. 3/BULLET HEAVEN Pat P Jan 15 2187" "Pat P" is Patent Pending, which means he either built it himself or someone built it for him recently and it has yet to get approved. It has a bullet loading system which Sol show-fully loads a bullet in to its revolver prior to each fight (worth noting that Gunflame's namesake indicates that the flames shoot like a literal gun). Sol's had several different swords over the years, a hunk of steel wired together in to a sharpened edge (which interestingly enough bears a similar appearance to his current sword if you look at the snaggle-tooth cracks near the grip), a sword with a cog (or gear) for a hilt, an axe, a large dark sword, and prior to this game a chainsaw blade that can transform in to a larger version of the Firesealed Sword. I can only assume it IS the Fireseal based on its appearance being similar to the original in design (though it could be a different weapon, there is no current proof for or against the idea). The fact his most recent swords can transform (which is associated with his Dragon Install) indicates to me that it serves in much the same capacity as the Fireseal did as an OutRage (that being a Magic Chord Amplification Device). Also worth mentioning the sword turns completely dark during his new Dragon Install transformation (this could either mean his body was so hot it scorches the sword, or the sword somehow channels its power in to his body, or it simply deactivates in a cooldown phase, Sol's previous Dragon Install form had flaming wings and a large flaming 'blade of fire' by comparison, so this form and weapon is more contained). I'm also aware of the fact that Sol is a bit of an inventor and still a scientist to some degree, as he at one point constructed a miniature phonograph device in order to listen to his old LPs. Sol is the original creator of the 8 Sacred Treasures, so it would make sense that he build his own weapons. Ky's current weapon is labeled "Magnolia Eclair II - Patented _____ " (More label info is needed).
Eclaire is French for Lightning, and since it IS patented, it must've been built and approved as a design.
In an old GG2 Interview there was a question regarding why Ky was able to fight while using the Aquila...a mere ornamental sword he was presented with. It was stated that Ky (being the ever-cautious tactical genius that he is) secretly modified the weapon to suit his purposes. Since this is the accepted answer, then Ky either built the Magnolia Eclair II himself, or had a specialist (with his consultation) build it, based on the Thunderseal's specs (or even using Thunderseal's parts or basic construction in mind). It might very well be that most owners of their respective OutRage Sacred Treasure have a working understanding of the mechanics of their weapons (hence why they were entrusted with them or that the weapons were stolen), so modifying them for modern day combat would only make sense (in most cases though it can't 100% be certain).
Lastly, regarding the Junkyard Dog Mk 3. It is "Mark 3" so it would indicate that there were two prior revisions to this weapon. It's unclear if the previous weapons Sol has used (AC and Overture's version of Fireseal) were in fact these revisions.
The "inner sword" design, while looking like the original Fireseal (if you look at Sol's intro where he loads the bullet during the Let's Rock sequence) is grayish-black in tone instead of red like the original Fireseal, and somehow manages to fit inside the smaller frame casing when fully closed despite being much larger than the original blade (which is already BIGGER than Fireseal's original size if you were to compare sword sizes). Even the revolver mechanism mysteriously slides into the lower core of the blade and locks in to place somehow.
I don't know how realistic this sword's transformation abilities are (or even if the Magnolia Eclair II can transform!), but we can only wait until we (hopefully) get a proper explanation.
Right now I can only say so much regarding these weapons and their powers, other than that it might just be a 'shrug of God' at this point (due to the weapons NEEDING a fresh design/look).
