Thursday Thirteen- April 3rd 2014
So, I've decided to do the Thursday Thirteen thing where every Thursday I make a list of thirteen things. My ideas are coming from the beautiful scully212 (Hullo Dana!!).
This weeks list is my top Disney movies. These aren't really in any particular order except that my most favorite are ranked higher.
1. Peter Pan - To be quite honest I'm not even sure why I love this movie so much. It's just so good! Not even OUAT can ruin Peter Pan for me, no matter how much I joke that it does. It makes me sad that I will never get to play Wendy in anything because I can't do the accent. Favorite songs: The Second Star to the Right, You Can Fly, and the song that plays every time the crocodile shows up.
2. Tangled - This is a beautiful movie. I love the humor of it and the lantern scene is amazing. Rapunzel is probably my favorite princess and I might have a little crush on Eugene. This is one of those movies that I watch when I'm sad and it's an immediate mood changer. Favorite songs: When Will My Life Begin (Reprise), I See The Light, I've got a dream, and the song that plays during the kingdom scene.
3. Toy Story - This was one of the movies that I watched multiple times a day when I was little and I still quote it ("You uncultured swine." "Way to go Idaho." are my most used.) I blame this movie for me being a little scared of my barbies and why I couldn't sleep with them out near me. Favorite songs: You've Got a Friend In Me, I Will Go Sailing No More.
4. The Lion King - Another movie that I watched multiple times a day. This was actually the first movie my mama bought me. I can picture this entire movie perfectly in my head and I know that it's going to be one that I love for the rest of my life. I believe one of the main reasons I fell in love with the Tenth Doctor so early on is because he quoted this movie in "The Christmas Invasion." Also, I love this game on the Sega. Favorite songs: Can You feel The Love Tonight, Be Prepared, I Just Can't Wait To Be King.
5. Pocahontas - I don't even care that this is not historically accurate. I ship Pocahontas and John Smith so hard. This is a beautiful movie with a beautiful message. I didn't watch this movie too much when I was little only because the VHS I owned was recorded from the TV. My most favorite moments while watching this movie is as an adult with my niece. I also don't like to acknowledge the sequel. Favorite songs: Literally all of them. I wouldn't be able to just pick a couple and it makes me very sad that If I Never Knew You wasn't included in the original release.
6. The Little Mermaid - This is the only princess movie I actually remember watching allllll the time. I know I watched the others, I mean I own them, but I can recall multiple memories of watching this movie. I remember I had these Little Mermaid figurines that I put in my fish tank. Favorite songs: Part of Your World, Under The Sea, Kiss The Girl.
7. Sleeping Beauty - I kinda remember watching this when I was little. I don't own it so it must have been a daycare, So this is a movie that I fell in love with as an adult. I love this movie. It's a classic. And I think that's why I love Aurora so much, because she is that classic princess. Which is actually the reason some people don't like her. Also, Prince Phillip is a cutie! Favorite songs: Once Upon a Dream.
8. Frozen - This movie is fabulous! It's beautiful and I love mostly all the songs (besides Fixer Upper). This movie makes me so cold though. Favorite songs: For The First Time In Forever, For The First Time In Forever (Reprise), Frozen Heart, Let It Go.
9. The Lion King II: Simba's Pride - Basically Romeo & Juliet and I love it. This is one of the few sequels I like. Favorite songs: He Lives In You, We Are One, Not One Of Us.
10. Hercules - I love this movie!! I have even thought about getting "go the distance" as a tattoo. I have those plates that McDonald's put out when the movie was coming out, except for the Pegasus one (I'm looking at you Katie.). Favorite songs: Go The Distance, I Won't Say I'm In Love.
That's ten but I feel like everything else is a honorable mention.
Honorable mentions: Tarzan, The Aristocats, Cinderella, Toy Story 2 & 3, Aladdin, Lilo & Stitch, Lady and the Tramp.
I love all Disney movies (besides Snow White) so this list isn't to say I don't like anything but these.
What are your favorite Disney Movies??
