What ppl don't realize is that the historical time period that Aladdin is set in was Pre-Islamic Arabia. This was when it was all nomadic tribes traveling through the region. So the chances are more likely that most people were a mix of South Asian origin as well as Arab. There wasn't one set ethnic group in this region of the world yet because tribes from all over travelled through and settled. It really was an ethnic/cultural mixing pot of South Asian and Arab.
Pre-Islamic Arabia? Okay I'll bite.
The story was taken from 1001 Nights, which was compiled around,
During the Islamic Golden Age, they say.
But also,
A Frenchman retold the story and probably missed details or changed them. So already you can see where the Western influence began.
And anyway all this doesn't taken into account the creative decisions that went into making the animations and the cartoon characters.
But also more infamously, remember the background?
Remind you of something? Like maybe Islamic architecture?
