Oh man I haven’t checked my inbox in ages. Thank you so much! I have a few haha. My blog has been dry lately but I’m hoping to write more now that I’ve graduated high school.
"THXNK" by HiFadility
Recently, my good friend and one of my favorite musicians iamhifadility released a new track called "THXNK" with coldbusted on their instrumental compilation IWYMI Vol. 6. It is always difficult to describe the HiFadility sound because it is so different from anything most people have ever heard, yet it is so thrilling that it is reminiscent of the Jazz, Hip Hop, Electronic and Caribbean sound we are all so familiar with. With the beginning of the new year 2015, I have been thinking about all of the things that I am thankful for, and the aspects of my life that I am interested in changing and negative cycles that I want to break in the interest of growth. "THXNK" came at the perfect time to remind me of what to THINK of /THANK for.
Currently as a society, we completely underestimate the power of sound. As our world is made of vibrations and waves, I feel like music has the special ability of intensifying the positive and negative, allowing us to consider both of those as aspects of life. Knowing HiFadility and HiFadility music in general, there was extra positive thought put into how his music would affect the audience, what the sounds would make them feel, how the sounds would make them act, what is the universal truth that can be portrayed in the music that emotionally, we all can relate to.
Specifically, with this track "THXNK", I am thankful for creators like HiFadility who try to understand and think about what affect they have on their audience, what they can give without asking for anything in return. No recognition, no money, and yet, HiFadility and creators like him are reaching to the depths of their soul and using their time and talent to endow us with sound that would bring us to a positive altered reality.
I am breaking my silence and speaking about Arts&Culture and their special ability to change our world. I will continue to think about my ability to be present and create, my ability to be alive, and I am thankful for it all. Check out the track and let me know how you feel!
