The tiyanak is a vampiric creature from Phillippine mythology. The tiyanak appears as a small baby and cries out in distress, hoping to lure in helpful travellers. Once it is picked up, it will sprout claws and fangs to kill its victims.
It is said that the way to break a tiyanak's enchantment is to turn your clothes inside out. It is also beleived that the tiyanak is afraid of loud noises.
