Let’s Do Get Help!
“I suggest the murder was done by Professor Plum with the candlestick in the Kitchen!” You blurted out triumphantly as you re-read your notes.
Loki gave you a sideways stare and rolled his eyes.
“There’s absolutely no way you can be correct. That’s two times in a row!”
You smirked.
“Give me the envelope Loki and I’ll prove it to you. Don’t be such a sore loser!”
You stuck your hand out dramatically and waited to be handed the secret envelope. Thor huffed and handed it to you and crossed his arms.
You peered into the envelope to see if you had guessed correctly. Unsurprisingly you did.
“Boom! Two times in a row! I thought you said you were good at this game!?” You bragged as you made to reset the game.
Thor, Loki, and Peter groaned at your success. You heard Loki muttering to himself about you cheating. Peter glanced at his watch before hurriedly leaping from his chair.
“Shit! I gotta go guys. I have a date with MJ. See ya!”
The three of you waved goodbye at the twitterpated teenager as he rushed out of the room.
You glanced over at Loki. He was staring you down trying to look intimidating to cover up the fact he was being bested by a mortal. It was a well-known fact that Loki was probably one of the most competitive people in the compound. Steve was a close second, but you also didn’t fall very far behind them.
***
Evenings like this were very common in the compound. After long days of training, meetings, and sometimes missions, the team enjoyed relaxing and spending time together not discussing work.
You were a spy similar to Natasha, but you never had the black widow training. You were not trained to be a master at hand-to-hand combat, assassinating, or any type of killing really.
You worked for Shield as a profiler. Your job was to observe the enemy, break down their mentality, and find any weak spots in their hardened cores. The joke is that people become terrorists due to pent-up daddy issues, but in reality that was a common denominator for villains.
(And yes, you brought this up with Thor and Loki at one point to help convince Loki that his rogue history was quite predictable due to him having a shitty dad). Thor was more amused than Loki was.
You were excellent at reading people. You could easily point out what makes them tick, how to tell when they are lying, and break apart flaws in their fighting techniques.
That’s why you were approached by Fury one day and invited to work with the Avengers. You were to be their consultant. You weren’t needed on missions often, but Fury thought it would be wise to get you trained up in combat fighting just to be safe. Your mind could only do so much.
When you first joined the team, you could tell some of your teammates were skeptical. They didn’t trust that you could break people down based on posture, tone of voice, and appearance.
Sam was the first one to test you. You truly liked Sam, but you knew from the moment you met, he was a skeptic.
The team had gathered in the common room to meet you. You walked in to be surrounded by some of the world's strongest people. Your first impressions of the team were easy to distinguish.
-Natasha stood boldly, not once dropping her guard. She maintained eye contact with you up until you shook her hand. Her handshake was strong and she smiled at you and patted you on the back. She trusted you already and was glad to have you as her teammate.
-Tony was bored. He kept making sideways glances at Steve which told you he was questioning his decision to have this meeting. His posture was slightly slouched and the bags under his eyes plus the grime on his heads led you to believe he had stayed up late tinkering in his lab.
-Steve was conflicted. His facial expressions and the way he glanced at you before eyeing the rest of his team told you he was unsure if he made the right call by inviting you to join the team. This was his family, and he wasn’t going to just let anyone waltz in without proving themselves.
-Loki was a bit more difficult to read, but you figured it out after Fury started making his “New student play nice” speech. The way Loki furrowed his eyebrows and had a gleam of curiosity in his eyes told you he was frustrated that he could not read you well. You knew from the get-go he was the newest member before you. He stood slightly farther from the rest of the team and didn’t try to have small talk. He was more of an introvert who wished to be elsewhere. Most likely reading. His clothes were in tip-top shape proving he was mindful of his appearance, even around the people he trusted.
- That left you with Sam. The rest of the team was off on a mission so they would have to meet you later. Sam was poorly trying to hide his skepticism. He stood tall and firm with his arms crossed in front of his chest. He looked at you with a slight smirk as if he thought this was a massive prank. As Fury continued his speech, you noticed Sam kept glancing at the empty space next to him, as if someone was missing from his side. He also had a bad habit of tapping his foot every time Fury rambled on about why profiling was an important skill.
“Does anyone have any questions before I leave?” Fury said sternly as he wrapped up his speech. Sam’s foot tapped again and his mouth quivered. He was going to speak but was nervous too.
“Yeah I got a question. How do we know this stuff is legit. Like, I wanna believe it, but I’m skeptical”. Sam let out a nervous chuckle as all eyes landed on you. You cleared your throat and spoke. Apparently, the only way to fit in was to prove your worth.
“Well Sam, I appreciate your skepticism. Gives me a chance to prove myself” you said as you walked closer to Sam.
“Although you are surrounded by teammates, you keep glancing to the empty spot next to you, as if someone important in your life is absent from this meeting. Perhaps a sidekick or best friend.”
Sam’s eyes widened in shock.
“I knew you doubted me the moment I walked in because every time Fury mentioned my name or job, you anxiously tapped your right foot.”
Sam looked down to see his foot was tapping again.
“Now, I don’t mean to pry, but you also are full of guilt. You are hiding something from your teammates. Not because you don’t trust them, but because you don’t want to mix work and your personal life. Based on how your cheeks flushed when I said “Personal” my guess is you got in a fight with your sibling about something that financially affected your family. Am I close?”
The room was silent for a few moments. Sam’s face was filled with pure shock, embarrassment, and now belief. The silence was broken by Natasha slowly clapping her hands and walking over to stand by your side.
“Alright, boys. Do you trust her now? Or does anyone else want their lives and personality dissected in front of the rest of us?” She received only a chorus of No Thank you’s.
Natasha turned to look at you.
“Welcome to the team rockstar”.
After your introduction and proof of your skills, the team welcomed you warmly. Within a few months, you were no longer a stranger but family too. You tried your best not to profile your teammates, but occasionally you were asked to help figure out which teammate stole this, or who lied about that. It was all good and fun and you loved being a part of a family again.
Eventually, you grew close to the Asgardian brothers. Maybe it was the fact that they weren’t human, or that they doted on you, but either way, they became your closest friends.
Loki from the beginning was a puzzle you wanted to solve. His mysterious aura and mischievous gleam always in his eyes drew you in like a magnet. He was the hardest person for you to read and you loved the frustration of Loki not being able to read you. You were similar too. Both are quiet, observers who like to hide in the shadows. Somehow, this bonded the two of you well.
His sassy tone and quick wit brought many smiles to your face. You even outwitted him a few times which earned you a threat. Not once had he followed through on one though, mostly because he was yet to find your weakness.
Thor on the other hand was by far the easiest to read. He was loud, boisterous, and fun-loving most of the time. He was a teaser, and surprisingly a prankster too. Loki and Thor communicated almost wordlessly most of the time. While fighting, they were always in sync, reading each other’s body language breathlessly. That had been the only communication you hadn’t quite broken down yet. You watched from the bleachers when they sparred. You were fascinated by the lack of eye contact they had, given the ability to still know what each other was thinking.
Eventually, you gave up and assumed Loki was using his magic to telepathically speak to Thor. But no matter how much you begged them to tell, neither would.
Your exceptional profiling skills made you extremely talented at most board games. Games that involved guessing or figuring out a puzzle were your specialty which is why you ended up dominating the Asgardian brothers and Peter at Clue on this fateful Saturday evening.

“So, you boys ready to be bested for a third time in a row?” You quipped, eager to play another round.
Loki signed. “Do your best, Mortal”. He then shuffled the deck of cards and distributed them amongst the three of you.
You being Miss Scarlet, meant you got to go first. You rolled the dice and made your way over to the library, where you liked to start. This round was quieter than usual. The boys were really focusing on their cards.
Eventually, Thor made his way to the ballroom and made a guess.
“ I believe it was Coronal Mustard in the ballroom with the lead pipe. Quite brutal if you ask me”.
You chuckled and silently thanked him. His guess narrowed down that the culprit was indeed Coronal Mustard, but not with the pipe since you had that card. You secretly sent Thor your card to prove he was incorrect. Thor, rather disappointed, scratched something off on his notecard.
Loki eyed you suspiciously as you tried to hide your growing smirk. You knew the answer again but had to wait for Loki’s turn.
You glanced at Loki as he rolled his dice. Something was off with his demeanor. And you couldn’t quite fixate what it was.
“Your turn Y/N. Think you have it all figured out do you?” Loki teased.
You shook off the weird feeling and made your guess.
“ It was Coronal Mustard in the Library with the dagger! Huh, kinda sounds like something you would do Loki”.
Thor threw his cards down admitting defeat. Loki on the other hand just smirked.
“ Well go on then, look at the cards dear.”
You smiled triumphantly and ripped open the envelope. Except, something wasn’t right. Inside the envelope was Coronal Mustard, the dagger, and the Cellar?? No that couldn’t be right.
You glared at Loki. “ Haha, real funny Loki! I know you cheated!”
You held up the Cellar card from your personal deck, proving he had manipulated the cards somehow.
“Brother, I think she’s being a sore loser, what do you think?”
Thor chuckled in response. “ Why yes brother! She seems awfully put out by your cheating. I wonder why.”
Loki sent Thor a friendly glare.
“Fine. I cheated. But at least I admit it! We both know you have been cheating this whole time Y/n! Just admit it, or we may have to help you admit it?”
Loki had emphasized the word help, and at the same time glanced at Thor. They were plotting something again, something you couldn’t tell.
Thor’s smile became more mischievous the longer he and Loki looked at each other. Unsure of what to do, you tried to distract them.
“I haven’t cheated! But if you wish for me to prove it, I declare a rematch. This round will go uncounted. How does that sound?”
Loki and Thor ignored your question. Instead, Thor said “Brother, I love your thinking. But how do we know it will work? Have you tested this on her before?”
Now you were getting worried. You fiddled with the card in front of you as you waited for them to speak to you.
Loki smirked.
“So agent, can I ask you a rather random question?”
You raised an eyebrow, unsure of where this conversation was going.
“I’m assuming even if I say no you are gonna ask me anyway. What is it?”
Loki turned to look at you, smiling faintly.
“You see, Thor and I were just trying to figure out if you were ticklish. For curiosities sake of course”.
For a brief millisecond, you lost your composure. This was the last thing you were expecting and it caught you off guard. Your unreadable nature was exposed for a second of time while you contemplated how to answer. Unfortunately, Loki was expecting you to drop your guard, and he saw the panic flash behind your bright eyes.
You didn’t get to answer before Loki spoke.
“Oh Thor. The dear profiler is ticklish. And deathly so I would assume by her reaction. What a shame”.
Thor and Loki quickly stood from their chairs and eyed you as if you were their prey.
Without taking his eyes off of you Loki blurted out,
“Brother, let’s do get help!”
That’s all you needed to hear before you took off running. You didn’t have to be a profiler to know that was code for tickle torture.
You ran down the hallway desperate for a place to hide. Loki was a sore loser and your bragging probably was gonna lead to your demise. And Thor, well, he was gonna do whatever Loki asked him to do.
You could hear heavy footfalls from behind you and they were quickly gaining speed. Your legs burned as you ran all thanks to the sprints you had completed that morning. Damn Steve and his heavy workouts!
You ran past the living quarters deciding that the bedrooms were too obvious. You hurried down the stairwell to the first floor. This floor was home to storage rooms and the gym. You wiggled the doorknobs on the storage room doors to find they were all locked. Frustrated and out of breath, you decided that the gym would have to do. You took off running again and entered the gym.
No one was working out this evening so the empty space was silent besides your now heavy breathing.
You looked around the room trying to find a good spot to hide. You spotted a closet and decided it was the best you had for now. You made your way over to it when all of a sudden you were knocked off your feet.
You ungracefully landed on your back onto the thankfully soft mats. You quickly sat up to see who had tripped you.
Laying next to the mat beside you was Mjollnir. Now panicking, you attempted to stand up but felt yourself get pushed down again. This time by Loki’s foot. You rolled over onto your back to see both brothers hovering over you.
“Thor, be a doll and hold her arms for me please” Loki stated nonchalantly.
“Why certainly brother”.
You immediately tried to scramble away again, but Loki had already placed himself on your hips, preventing you from sitting up. Thor chuckled and easily held both your arms down with his knees above your head.
Flustered, you wiggled weakly under the demigods. Loki peered down proudly at you beneath him.
“Ho-how did you catch me so quickly!” You sputtered.
“Dear one, have you ever heard of an elevator? It’s much faster than the stairs. We heard the stairwell door slam and Loki used his magic to ensure only one door was left unlocked.” Thor smiled and winked at you teasingly.
Freaking Loki and his magic. You should have known.
Loki placed his hands on your sides, unmoving, but threatening like. You flashed your eyes down and felt your face heat up again.
Loki’s face morphed into pure evil at that point. He finally found your weak spot. The mere thought of him tickling the living daylights out of you prevented you from being able to hide your emotions. Your ability to hide your feelings, fears, hopes, and dreams were lost and under the scrutiny of Loki’s judgment.
“Oh Thor, we are gonna have fun with this one. Her defenses have escaped her and she can’t hide her fear and perhaps excitement?”
Loki peered at you quizzically on the word “excitement”. You tried to not react, but your body betrayed you with another blush. You were fairly ticklish just about everywhere, but being held down and vulnerable made it 100 times worse. You hadn’t been tickled for ages, so you were filled with nervous excitement for what was to come. You trusted the brothers with your life and sensed they were gonna make this friendly torment last until they got what they wanted.
Loki tutted. “Awe so you are excited then? Well good! Because we are rather excited to weed out all your sensitive spots until you are left a screaming, wriggling mess.”
You visibly blushed again, not even attempting to hide it.
“Look Loki! You broke her before we’ve started. Look at that precious red face you have dear!”
Full of embarrassment you tried to escape, but their grips held firm.
“Shut up Thor! When I get out of this I’m gonna kick your a-HHHEY!!” Your threat was cut off by Loki pinching your side.
“One must not talk to my brother like that, dear. You are in deep trouble anyway for cheating.” Loki winked at you.
“Bu-but I didn’t cheat! Thor! You know I didn’t!”
Thor chuckled and started running his fingers down your arms starting at the wrist.
“We know young maiden. But you still kicked our butts and rubbed it in. That’s enough evidence for me”.
As his fingers made their way to your underarms, you started giggling crazily. His fingers tips were treading so light and you felt your stomach flutter with anticipation.
But as soon as his fingers reached your armpits he ceased and Loki drove his pinching fingers back into your sides.
You squealed as Loki was unrelenting this time. He didn’t stop after his initial squeeze but instead persistently followed your squirming form.
You thrashed violently as Loki pinched up and down your ribs. Thor was still lightly trailing his fingertips up and down your arms, and the mixture of the two feelings was almost unbearable. You cackled and snorted whenever Loki brushed too close to your lower ribs.
Loki fluttered his fingers right above that rib and watched as you jerked and snorted, without being touched.
“Oh no. Is that a bad spot? Tell me profiler, what am I gonna do? Am I going to torment that spot or try somewhere else?” Loki’s teasing was working you up. You didn’t want to waste your breath answering him, so you just stuck your tongue out at him. In response, Thor brushed his fingers over your neck and ears which resulted in a very high pitch shriek.
Both brothers froze and stopped for a second. That mercy was short-lived however because you soon felt your head being tilted to one side and your cheek being pinned to the mat by one of Thor’s large hands.
Your eyes bulged as you tried to scrunch your neck but couldn’t.
“No-No no-no Thor!! Please no! Anywhere else please!!”
You thrashed and tried to buck Loki off your hips as desperate giggles escaped your lips.
“Sorry young maiden. But this seems like a good spot to test out. Besides, I haven’t heard you say stop yet!”
Thor belted out a laugh and attacked your neck and ear.
Not being able to comprehend the sensation, you howled! Your feet frantically beat against the floor as you giggled and shrieked for a reprieve.
Loki, feeling a little lonely, decided it was time to try that spot on your lower ribs.
He threaded his fingers over the spot while Thor was still scribbling over your neck. Immediately your laughter grew louder and now it was splattered with snorts and cackles along with the shrieks and giggles.
The brothers were ruthless. After Thor stopped his attack on your neck, Loki moved his hands to claw at your belly, which released a deep belly laugh from you. All the while you were being tortured, Thor and Loki had huge mirthful smiles on their faces. As ruthless as they were, you also were having fun.
Realizing you were almost at witts-end, the brothers stopped to give you some air. Thor released your arms and Loki crawled off of you. You felt Thor pick you up and pull you into his chest.
Once your breathing normalized you hesitantly asked “A-are you done nohohow. I’m re-ready for a rematch in clue!” You were still giggling and smiling as you leaned further into Thor's chest.
Loki flicked his eyes over to Thor with a grin. You felt Thor's chest rumble as he laughed at your giggling form.
“Loki I believe is done. But I wish to try one more thing.”
Before you could ask what, Thor moved your hair that blocked your neck, and he placed his scruffy beard on the soft skin.
You jolted from the intense tickly feeling and immediately fell back into shrieky laughter as Thor rapidly brushed his beard all over your neck. After a minute of this torture, he finally relented.
Thor released his hold on you as you scrambled from his arms. After a few moments of heavy breathing, the tickly feelings dissipated.
You looked at the brothers who were seated in front of you. Now being able to think again, you were able to read your teammates. Both were happy and grateful for the laughter and bonding you gave them. They finally looked blissful and complete.
Loki was the first to stand and grabbed your hand to help you stand.
“I think I’m ready for a rematch, you little cheater. I’m feeling less competitive now thanks to your adorable laughter. Shame you had to tell me your weakness. I may have to exploit it more often” Loki teased with a wink.
Thor laughed in agreement as you headed back to the common room.
“Well one thing is for certain. There was a murder and I already know the next clue”.
The brothers paused and looked at you confused. Laughing you said
“It was the Asgardian brothers, in the gym with tickles!”
