Poe had been working day and night on a new novel he was planning. Tons of paper were scrunched up and thrown on the floor. He worked on it day and night and you were worried about him. You always asked him if he was okay now and then and if he needed anything, he always replied no in any way that was polite.
You finally had enough when it came to the fourth night he was still working on his novel. He hardly ate or drank water. Dark circles were becoming more apparent under his eyes.
You went into his room where he would write and stood next to him. “Uh, yes dear? Is there anything you need? I’d be happy to help.” he mumbled with wide eyes whilst writing.
It seemed as if he was trying to keep himself awake. “Poe, you need to rest, you’ve been working on your novel for the past four days without a break. And I won’t take no for an answer!” “But-” “No buts either.”
He stopped writing and tried to straighten his back, it made horrible cracking noises and he seemed as if he were used to it. “It’s been four days?” he asks. “Yes, now please, I’m worried about you. You need to eat and hydrate yourself. And get a lot of rest.” “...okay, ah you always care about me so much.” he smiled.

Once he had eaten and hydrated himself enough, you made sure he relaxed and sat with him on the couch. You both watched a romantic comedy. He yawned but still kept his eyes wide open in an attempt to stay awake. “Poe dear, please, you need to sleep. Don’t force yourself to stay awake.” you said with concern.
He turned to look at you and smiled. You pulled him down to lay his head on your chest and started playing with his hair. He had a rosy tint on his pale skin but he smiled afterwards, snuggling up just a little closer to you.
“Thank you for always taking care of me, I must be such a burden on you.” “What!? No! You’re not a burden, you never have been, you aren’t and you never will be a burden to anyone. I love you Poe.” you said planting a kiss on his head. He smiled and took your hand in his and squeezed it lovingly and uttered a little ‘thank you’ and a ‘I love you too’ before falling asleep, your hands intertwined. He really was tired and so were you.
You both fell into a deep slumber while Karl watched the rest of the romantic movie.
