HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LEGENDARY TICORN! CONTINUED BLESSINGS, SUCCESS AND JOY! 08/11/2016 HAITI☆LEGENDS TiCorn http://www.ticorn.com/ "TiCorn is an established performing artist of the #Caribbean island #Haiti. Her colorful career as professional singer / songwriter started 1978 with her first recording LP “Haiti”. Many music productions, concerts, live performances and music videos followed over the years. Besides interpreting traditional #Haitian #folk songs and her own ballads in #Creole and #English, she had the pleasure to work with renowned musicians and songwriters. Melodious tunes, beautiful lyrics, intricate rhythms, skillful guitar accompaniment and a warm, natural vocal “timbre” are gracefully combined to charm wherever she performs. As a faithful and loving representative of Haitian music TiCorn expresses in tunes of joy, laughter and sorrow the deeply poetic soul of a nation which never abandons hope. TiCorn (Creole for “petite Cornelia” - Cornelia Schütt) was born 1953 to a German family, rooted in Haiti for several generations in the trading and shipping business. At the age of 12 she started playing the #guitar and singing the songs that surrounded her. She spent her childhood in Cap Haitian, then was sent to Germany for further education. She has lived most of her life between the #Caribbean and #Europe and continue to travel to many countries ... read more > http://www.ticorn.com/ #ticorn #Singer #songwriter #folk #folkloric #haiti #guitarist #haitilegends
TiCorn sends a seasonal musical greeting and best wishes for peace with this well known Christmas song, interpreted in four languages: Creole (lyrics by TiCorn), German, English and French. TiCorn voye salwe nou avèk Nwit trankil , yon bèl chante Nwèl ki ankouraje tout moun pou viv ansanm nan lapè.
After listening to TiCorn's M'ape Kimbe, I daresay that the lyrics are so original, so Créole, that she's on par with Aznavour for the beauty and power of her phrases. I particularly love "Sipenn fai brui tankou un vonvon, mon cher ou pa honte mande'm pardon!"
