Aphos is an alpha tidal fury (tidal class) who prefers to travel in the waters with her sisters

Actually the runt of the family who somehow gained alpha status thru unknown means, the smallest out of the group

Their dark gray-blueish coloring helps them blend underwater, are able to hold their breaths underwater for a very long time

The Tidal Fury

Also known as the Coral Fury, this semi-aquatic dragon is found in tropical seas all across the equator. However, they prefer the half-submerged rocky highlands that make up many reefs where they can take advantage of the terrain with their supreme mobility. Close-knit islands are also a favorable habitat.

They are especially defensive and have been known to attack fishing boats— or perhaps they’re just ravenous enough to attack fishermen and steal their catch directly! Those fangs aren’t just for show, there are reports of these dragons biting right through wooden hulls! However, they are primarily used to crack open shellfish like clams.

Similar fire suggests they’re more closely related to the Night and Light Fury, but large canines suggests lineage with the Vale Fury.

Identifiable by:

Yellow eyes with serrated pupils.

Two prominent ear flaps and ten small lil nubs.

Turquoise, aqua green, or blue green bodies with orange stripes down the back and tail, along with the wings.

Two dorsal fins, blue spines down the tail. Fins on the legs and a comb on the head. A pair of secondary wing flaps and a large tail fin used for propelling themselves underwater.

Four orange tendrils on the chin, possibly for detecting electric signals from prey underwater.

Bright blue plasma blasts.

Swimming behavior: Tucking their legs in, they will pump their wings and tail to propel themselves.

Flight behavior: Slower than other Furies due to their tail fins creating drag and heavier bodies. Relies on stronger wingbeats.

Nesting behavior: After finding a mate for life, the pair will dig a nest of sand together for the female to lay her eggs. Oftentimes this nest is on a tall rocky island out of reach of larger dragons. Both parents will raise their relatively small clutch of 2-3.
