Tide Locked: April 23, 2022. Hello, I finished and finalized a second draft!! It is, in fact, still a mess, but it’s My Mess, and I’m overall happy with it so far!! It’ll be so cool once it’s all grown up. It’s going to be a novella, which is fun and exciting, and the second draft is sitting at just under 44k (too long, I know--third draft problem). It’s 147 pages, making it the smallest book-shaped thing I’ve written to date!

This marks the third book in a row where I’ve accidentally perfectly color-coordinated my knitting project to the writing project and finished them in about the same time, so I wanted to take a picture of them all together! Featuring Big Geraldine (Head Duck) and her tiny entourage as earrings.

April 2, 2022. Revision Pass: Complete! Please witness the carnage of my desk Immediately After Completing the Final Page. (I might have a Post-It problem.) I have absolutely No Idea how long this manuscript is, currently, because all my words are scribbled on my hardcopy, but!: Next step is to input all the revisions into Word and see what the damage is. I’m hoping to wrap that up this week--it’s a shorter book, and I’ve typed some big chunks of it already!
