IF SHE NEEDED TO, SHE COULD DEFEND HERSELF. The sword on her back has shed the blood of beasts far bigger than himself. The only reason she hadn't used it thus far was because there were many of them. She could attract the attention of hundreds if she struck even one in self-defense, and Mari knew that if she died, her dear rathalos would go down with her.
For his sake, they needed to find a way off of this island. To Starflight's likely surprise, the unfortunate young scavenger that he had come across in the crag of the tunnel would not respond in shrill squeaks . . . she spoke, clear and cold and quiet. Her tongue is laced with a threat as steely as her weapon.
"Eat me and I'll cut my way out of your stomach," Mari snarled. Her gaze is piercing, burning with a flame as hot as the one he breathed . . . for being so small, she certainly had the boldness of a proper dragon.
But, in fairness, the dragonet who stumbled across her was meek by comparison. His size betrayed the curiosity of his gaze, and he was still a fair bit smaller than all the others around here. He also seemed . . . healthier? Less desperate-looking. Like there was still some shine to his glossy black scales.
Mari still doesn't move from her spot within the crag. She wouldn't until she knew for certain he was harmless. But, confusion does slowly overtake her nasty glare. The girl cants her head cautiously. " . . . Who are you?"
