Do you have any tips on drawing nonhuman characters? Like animals or aliens also I hope you have a good day :)
I'll start with thank you very much, and hope you do as well! ^w^
Hmmm, my biggest tip would be to study the internal anatomy of animals, or if possible find pics of them without their fur or feathers, if they're something with concealing amounts of floofage. Birds are a great example of how they can be built vastly different than what you might think.
Birds, with or without feathers, can be a great study for aliens as well. XD
A lot of animal skeletal structures are actually pretty similar to a human's if you think about it. So if you have any sort of grasp on humans, you can modify that to be more like an animal.
For some added terms you could search, there are (as far as I know) three different names for how creatures stand and walk; Plantigrade, Digitigrade, and Unguligrade. (I just learned about that last one as I was building this post, lol)
Basically, the heal is on the ground for Plantigrade, while Digitigrade and Unguligrade lift it higher and higher. (I need to study more myself to fully understand the difference between Digitigrade and Unguligrade; I figure it's mostly that Unguligrade refers to hooved animals specifically.)
So if you want to search for examples of each of those leg builds, those terms might be a good place to start!
Uhh, that's all I got for now. ^^; Just, study anatomy, and see how it might relate to what you already know!
