Hey Guys! I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long. Truth be told I didn't really want to make this post, but I figured I owe many of you some closure. Unfortunately many of the buns here have passed; only Sheep remains. She’s 10 years old today I was expecting it to happen; they were all born at the same time and were the same age; But I wasn’t expecting it to be in such a quick succession. It was a sort of domino effect, which each bun passing not long after the other, and each time I would pick myself up only to get knocked down by grief again. I couldn’t bear to post about one loss, then two, and it soon became a long struggle of dealing with the deaths of many. We have some new faces, but I will hold off from posting them for now. Keeping this all in memory of my Diddly Buns. I miss you all <3

The last few days Tiggi started to have breathing difficulties. The vet said that she was super thin and that long with the breathing it could be lung tumours, but we decided to give her a chance and try her on pain meds, in case it was an inflammation.

The next day Tiggi was mouth breathing (which isn’t something rabbits ever do) and so both fiancé and I decided it wasn’t fair to let her suffer. So we took her back to the vets.

Then we arrived they started the procedure with us in the room (my last vets asked if we would stay). Tiggi was still fighting and not ready to go. While my fiancé left the room I decided to stay. I didn’t want to at all, but she was frightened and I wanted to try and keep her as calm as possible. I was told they would give her the same stuff that puts them to sleep for operations and the vets warned me that she would jump as they injected her. Even though they warned me I wasn’t prepared for her jumping and fighting it but she instantly crumpled and fell asleep very shortly. Her vein broke so they gave her a second dose and she was gone instantly.

While I’ve seen a number of bunnies die in my arms and had a few put to sleep it’s the first time I’ve been there.

What broke me isn’t that she is gone and was sick, but the fact that even though it was kinder, she wasn’t ready and fought so hard. It makes me feel like I had her killed her no reason.

I am totally in bits at the moment. I really wish I hadn’t been there. But for her sake I’m glad and hope I provided at least a little comfort.

Tiggi and Marble in our new garden after 8 months of waiting! We were forced to move at a bad time and so they didn't get winter coats. But now they can finally have outside time. Will be a little while before their sheds are up, but they are happy to finally be able to roam again!
