~*~ Her thin lips pursed as she examined the empty scene before her. She’d seen the photos from her friend at the precinct. Remembering the gruesome scene and not even shuddering at the thought. Kaisa had been asked for her opinion since she had a past with such things. Being a PI and having connections with the detectives helped both sides. The short blonde woman had come to the scene just so she could walk it herself. What she had not expected was this man that was there. Somehow she’d guessed right when she pointed out coming back to the scene of the crime; the dump site. How had she known? Her gut had told her. He wasn’t someone to trust and yet she couldn’t arrest him. All she’d be able to do would try to get back to the station and give the information over to the detectives.
“So you’re the killer,” she stated. It wasn’t a question, just an accusation, “and you’re coming to relive the crime in your memory.”
Her voice was cold and those emerald eyes of hers glared at him. The victim had been her age. She should be afraid, but no fear came from her. She was strong, much stronger than she’d been in the past. Kaisa wouldn’t let herself be a victim again and if she could she’d be the one to bring him to justice.
“And to your question, no. I’ve been to plenty,” Kaisa replied, her eyes flickering with something that looked haunted. Too many to count, but the first had scarred her more than anything else. Without her quick thinking she’d have been dead that night. She watched him, “what are you going to do now? Run or take me too?”
It sounded like she was challenging him. Maybe she was. Kaisa knew that the challenge in her questions were dangerous but maybe she could get him incapacitated. There was a tiny part of her that understood that she might actually end up a victim of his as well.
