it was as if the mess she'd caused at the wedding reception had lifted a veil from the woman, removed her rose coloured glasses when it came to her winnings and had exposed her true feelings about it all. there was no closure - josette depended on closure and it never came. she hadn't known what on each possessed her to attend that wedding reception, or what had lead her back into the mean cat after cyrek so clearly didn't want her anywhere near but perhaps it was her self-destructiveness that was to blame for all of it. the money hadn't fixed her problems, it had just made them feel less real as she rode out some fantasy of how she could have been if she hadn't made such a mess of everything. keeping her head down, the woman walked up to the bar. "yeah, hi. please can i get a double vodka soda with a lime and not too much soda, please?"
