So are you finding enough to do to keep yourself busy, little one?
Yeah, I guess so. Adult parties aren’t very fun.
And I’m not little.

[ever since Olena went back to work, it’s been terribly difficult for the four of them to have much quality time together that didn’t consist of getting the kids ready for the sitter or for the bed. but now Laura is home early enough from work, and Olena hasn’t worked today; so they’re each carrying a baby--Kalyna is the one clinging to Olena--and strolling out to the garden]
It’s beautiful out, isn’t it? It’s finally cooling off for autumn.
@tijdenwafels
[sneaks up behind her wife and gives her a kiss] Hello beautiful. Have I told you how stunning you are?
[feigns surprise] Oh, no you have not!
Thyme for a Marriage
It had been more than a long time coming, but finally the day had arrived. The setup had taken a tremendous amount of work, especially on Olena’s part--the area they had set up outside was absolutely drowning in flowers that she had made and arranged herself.
The scheduled time was about to hit, and the members of the Legion had seated themselves and were talking among themselves. Outside of the rows of chairs were tables, decorated with candles and flower arrangements, and set with dishware. Adrian had teleported the grand piano outside and was playing a few pieces as a prelude. The notes of “And I Love Her,” by the Beatles, floated through the spring evening air. Meanwhile, Raivis had taken his spot under the arch, small book in hand.
Elsewhere, Olena was huddled with her brother Havryil. The Ukrainian woman had a crazy case of the jitters, and of course she took it out on adjusting her brother’s tuxedo and corsage.
“It’s fine,” he mumbled, smiling down at her. “You are looking beautiful, sestrenka. The most beautiful you have ever been.”
She could feel tears welling at her eyes, and was thankful she insisted on not wearing makeup, even on her wedding day. “Stop it, stop messing around with me...”
“No, I mean it, it’s true! I’m really proud of you, Olenka.”
Olena gave him a watery smile, before Laura’s mother popped in, Kalyna in tow. “I think they’re about to start. Are you ready?”
Olena gave her daughter a kiss on the forehead. “I am quite ready.”
Seconds later, Adrian began playing the voluntary on the piano, signaling the start of the ceremony.

[the kids are finally asleep in their cribs, and Olena creeps over to her and Laura’s bed and lays down with an exhausted sigh] Finally.
@tijdenwafels
The day Olena had been impatiently waiting for had finally arrived, and she’d made sure that both her schedule and Laura’s were free to make it to the appointment. Laying on the examination chair with her feet in the stirrups, with her fiancee sitting beside her in a regular chair holding her hand, almost felt surreal and dream-like. Upon seeing Christiaan, Laura’s half-brother, it suddenly began to feel more real.
The Ukrainian had to lay down for a little while longer after the procedure itself was finished. Her hand stayed in Laura’s as the doctor talked to them about hopes for the procedure and what they wanted their baby to be like--Olena wanted a girl, possibly one who enjoyed animals and the outside, but she wouldn’t be disappointed by anything else.
When they were finally dismissed by the doctor and had checked out, they met up with Christiaan outside of the waiting room and took him to a nice lunch, as an up-front thanks for his help. After they were done eating, Christiaan remarked that he was planning on meeting up with someone; but before departing, almost as an afterthought, he gave each woman a hug and a little kiss on the head.
Arriving back at the Legion, Olena felt like she was floating in on a daze. All she wanted to do was just lay down and be lazy. So she made herself comfortable on a couch and turned on the TV. After flipping through, she landed on WALL-E, feeling attracted to the cute children’s movie.
Promise.
The sun was shining, the air was just a little nippy, and Olena’s nerves were racing five hundred miles a minute. She was a little glad that Laura had had a midterm that morning because it meant the Ukrainian had just a little more time alone to mentally prepare herself. She was still on leave from work so that wasn’t a concern yet; so she spent much of the morning busying herself with chores, mostly washing the clothes from their trip. The sorting and washing and folding helped distract her some so she wouldn’t go ballistic and potentially ruin the day with her nerves.
In the middle of the process, Olena spoke with her two youngest brothers on the telephone, who gave her words of encouragement and also voiced their excitement about coming to visit soon. Talking to Havryil and Kyrylo offered a bit more comfort; combined with Laura’s parents’ blessings, she felt a little more confident.
When she was finished with the clothes, Olena took a shower, while Odessa sat on the rug in the bathroom and ‘talked’. Amused, Olena talked back to her about what they were going to do later and told the dog that she needed to be on her best behavior so everything would be perfect. Once the Ukrainian woman was out of the shower and dried off, it was nearing the time that Laura had said she was expecting to be home. Before getting very far in dressing herself, Olena started getting the backpack ready, slipping the tiny box in a pocket after one last quick inspection. She was drying her hair with the towel when her mobile phone rang; upon checking the screen, it was her girlfriend. “Hello?”
[slides you a basket of kittens] I would like headcanons for my losers please! :D
6, 6, 3! 15 total! so i’ll split it up to 5 each!
Ber
Many people’s hair changes colors over the course of their life, especially blonds; but Ber is one of the few who haven’t really had any major changes.
He was pretty average height until he was 14; and then he shot up like a foot in one year.
He likes blueberries a lot.
He always means to go to bed at a certain time but then ends up losing track of time from being busy. And then he notices the time and just sighs.
When he was a teenager his mother seriously wondered if it was possible to lengthen pants, and even started asking around to find someone who could. Ber just ended up being Big and Tall when he was 15.
Laura
She’s one of the aforementioned blondes whose hair’s changed color over her life. When she was a baby and very smol her hair was almost white-blonde; and it’s gradually darkened over her life.
She’s very thankful that she doesn’t have to wear the Short sizes in pants/jeans. One inch shorter and she would have to.
There was a period of her youth during which she was very interested in jungles and safaris.
She went through an embarrassing phase in which she made cat noises a lot and wore kitty ear headbands.
She knows how to appreciate granny panties, especially since they’re so comfortable (and Olena doesn’t mind that they’re unsexy).
Matt
All of his grade school yearbook photos were extremely embarrassing. Like, they were bad.
Matt was one of the three best readers in the kindergarten classes at his school and often got singled out for it.
He likes eating plain graham crackers despite how dry they are.
One of his high school jobs was as a janitor at a mini-golf place.
He has a couple of chipped teeth.
