On the last day of February we put away the Winter Edition of Carcassonne and mixed the 4 Seasons-Spring tiles into the base game (plus River II) This is a selection of some of the Spring tiles. It's such a delight to see them again! (We played the Spring expansion all spring and summer last year because we didn't yet have the Summer expansion.)

I've played a few more games of A Gentle Rain since my recent post about it, including one terrific win...that I forgot to take a picture of🤦‍♀️ Btw, this is the new edition of the game, with the lotus tokens from the Bloom Edition. (The Bloom Edition has otters🦦 on some tiles, the regular version of the new edition has ducks🦆)

But this morning I played (& won) a game which had some unusual features.

This is what it looked like after the first 6 tiles!😮 OK, getting 2 blooms with only a half dozen tiles played, and a rectangular shape...yeah, that was unexpected. But the ending was even more startling!

With only two tiles left and one bloom to place I had some places that would probably never be filled, like this one.

And the penultimate tile...

...fit perfectly!
