I finally watched Mad Max

To be honest, I expected it to be better. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. I think tumblr made it seem more exiting than it was in reality. I loved the stunts and cinematography and make up and costumes - those were amazing. As well as female characters. I could watch Furiosa all day. My problem was with dialogues. Very few dialogues, mostly short and cliched. The mood of the movie reminded me of Snowpiercer. But in Snowpiercer there was an intrigue, an unexpected turn of events; also explanation of the world, etc. Here - almost nothing. The movie is a pretty (dusty, bloody and scarred) picture but it has no deep meaning, sadly. Did I say that I loved women in it? LOVED THEM. Pretty, furious and very strong. Wish some of them didn't die though :( The ending is obviously done so to allow a sequel. No idea why the movie is called Mad Max is Furiosa stole the whole show. Love both Tom Hardy and Charlize. Overall the movie was enjoyable, although less deep and more gory than I expected so I'm glad I didn't pay for it (I had a free ticket).
