ngl I need more fics that delve into Tim's grief over losing his dad. I hate the whole Tim had terrible parents' trope who neglected him and so forth. From the admittedly brief stuff I've read, it seems that while his parents were always busy, they did love him, and his dad in the end was trying to fix their relationship. I like that Tim was just a normal kid who just wanted to be like his heroes and when his heroes were down, he decided to help them by being a hero himself. I like that he didn't go through some tragedy to become a hero. No, the tragedy came when he became involved in doing good because how realistic is that, right? Like the moment you become involved, you also risk yourself and those around you, especially if the very bad people who you're trying to take down and gain justice from, decides to target the things that you love the most...and then succeed at it too. That's a pretty powerful grief, to be orphaned while being a hero, instead of becoming a hero because you were orphaned.
