Lucy Lesson — Tim Tests 101
Don’t worry, guys it’s just another Tim test!
Love how the Tim Tests didn't work on Seth, because Lucy told Seth all about it 🤭😂
1x1 | 4x8
"what's the most important thing you need on the street?"
"is this a trick question? well, the easy answer is my gun, but i know that's not right. my mind? no, that's too esoteric for you."
"are you through with not answering my question?"
"my judgment? yeah, my judgment."
I’m just thinking of Firestorm doing Panda Redd (from Tik Tok and YouTube) Tim Test. That’s when Tim Drake from the Batman series sees whether or not he can guess someone’s secret identity.
I’m just imagining—
Martin Stein: Hello there Mr. Drake.
Tim Drake: Hi?
Ronnie Raymond: Sup dude, we’re here to do the Tim test.
Tim: Uh, okay. Who am I testing first?
Martin: Oh both of us.
Tim:… pardon?
Ronnie: We’re the same hero.
Tim: like… as in like two versions of the same guy?
Martin: No, we fuse into one hero.
Tim:… BUH?
Ronnie: I’m guessing that means we pass?
Tim: *still same expression of ‘Tim.exe is broken’*
Martin: I believe so.
I truly think that Tim was already a little bit in love with Lucy by the time The Checklist came around, and his feelings bloomed into something real enough to scare him in Free Fall.
Lucy had just finished saying that she didn’t want to be the type of cop who was just checking off boxes, that she wanted to help people. Tim isn’t even really aware that he’s testing Lucy here, but she manages to pass it anyway. He’s a man and a cop who likes rules. And he likes rules because they give structure, but the thing about knowing the rules backwards and forwards is you know when and how, and most importantly why to break them. Tim always stays in the right side of the law, but he knows how to make the system work for him too. And when Lucy let the woman with the switched plates go, she showed him that she was paying attention to his lessons and understood the rules he was paying by too.
The fact that he feels like he can trust her, is Lucy passing the ultimate Tim Test.
