You never thought that your life would get to this point. Sleep might have never been something that came easily or naturally to you, but you never thought that there would be a reason for it. Something like fear keeping you awake was far from ever being on your radar, yet here you were.
The quiet of the motel room was heavy, the darkness that you had to sit in to keep you safe creeping in on you with every passing second. The bit of moonlight that crept across the room's carpet did nothing to ease the grip fear seemed to have over you. You didn't know who or what was lurking out there, if they would once again actually lay their hands or whatever they had instead on you. Or worse, what if you did know who was at fault? Jay had been slowly becoming irritable and out of sorts the longer you were all on the run, and while you knew it wasn't his fault, Tim wasn't always… himself. You and Jay had both been on the receiving end of what the masked man was capable of.
You nearly felt stuck in place underneath the motel comforter, suffocating from the heat of it, despite the blanket weighing nothing at all.
Tim shifts slightly in his sleep beside you, and you instinctively freeze. You didn't want to wake him up. You worried that rolling over onto one of your sides would wake him up, and you knew sitting up would probably yield the same result, but it didn't stop you. As the seconds passed, the heat made your anxiety more palpable until it turned into outright panic. Before you knew it, you were carefully but quickly sitting up and pushing the cheap sheets off your body, feeling your lungs expand faster and faster behind your ribcage.
Everything in your body felt wrong, like it wasn't yours somehow, even though you had never been anyone else. Your skin tingled as though all of your limbs were asleep, mouth and throat inexplicably dry. You pull your knees into your chest, arms closing around them, and dull nails digging into your legs. You could pull yourself together - you had to. You weren't the only person going through something; you didn't need to drag the boys into your bullshit.
The bed shifts, and you hold your breath as though that would somehow make you disappear.
You're fine, you're fine. The words didn't help. It's just Tim. You never thought there would be a day when that thought wouldn't solve all of your problems.
A hand moves slowly against the small of your back, the warmth of it making your back straighten as though that would get it away from you. Your entire body is tense, and it almost hurts.
"Hey," Tim's voice is rough with sleep, but it's his. The sound still doesn't change your posture or the noise in your head. "You okay?" You can feel his hand on your back stutter in its movements, like Tim doesn't know if he should take it away or if you need it to keep you grounded.
You can't answer or even look at him, and now guilt is slowly mixing in with your panic. You hate that you can't move or acknowledge him, you hate that you can't even bring yourself to relax and lean into him. You want to look at Tim and tell him you're okay, tell him the truth, tell him anything, but the dryness in your throat keeps you silent.
Tim lets out a quiet groan that you would tease him for if you weren't so stuck. You barely register the mattress moving underneath you or the springs threatening to squeak before you feel one of Tim's big hands on top of your head, fingers affectionately leaving a soft scratch against your scalp before tracing the slope of your face to make you look at him. You can't see for shit, though, only the vague outline of him, wishing you could see his big brown eyes. You wouldn't be able to maintain your gaze for more than a second, but you felt as though it could be enough. You love Tim's eyes.
"Look at me, love." You already were, and he knows it. Tim also knows you need the encouragement, the guidance. And like you, he can barely make you out in the nearly nonexistent light and knows that you can see even less of him. "You're okay." The way Tim says it is like a hushed, relieved sigh, like he also needs to hear it to believe it. Like he's hallucinating the feeling of your face under his hand. "You're safe with me."
Finally, after what feels like hours of being unable to move, you feel yourself nod. You're still stiff, but it's like your nervous system is aware of Tim's presence and knows that he's right. If anyone would keep you safe, it's Tim. You lean your face further into his palm. His thumb passes over your cheek. You can hear him breathing against the silence of the room, but it's louder, like he's trying to quietly convince you to copy his breathing. You do before you can fully register it's happening.
Your lips part to say something, but you don't have anything to say. Or maybe you do, but your brain is choosing to keep the words locked up. Instead, you slowly remove your nails from the skin of your thigh and go to softly hold his hand, taking it away from your face and pulling it close to you, resting your hands against your knees, looking at the way they're folded together. "I'm sorry." The words creak as they leave your mouth.
Tim lets out a little huff, squeezing your hand. "What are you apologizing for, darlin'? You didn't do anything wrong." You feel your face flush, maybe from embarrassment, maybe in guilt. You don't know. Your muscles tense again as you feel him move you until you're pressed into his side with his free arm. It's only when the two of you are settled that your body finally relaxes, weightless in a way that hasn't been true in hours. Tim's warmth seems to lull your senses into a more comfortable state. "You wanna talk about it?"
You love the way Tim cares for you. It's always soft and at your own pace in a way you think he'd somehow brush off or deny if you ever said anything about it. Tim was always soft for someone who was so rough around the edges. "I don't know." You sigh, but you know you have more to say. "Just… Scared, I guess." It feels like you're admitting to something shameful, like fear isn't a valid thing to feel in the context of what your life has become.
You're sure Tim's frowning, self deprecating thoughts worming their way into his head. You're quick to reassure him, just like he does for you. "It's not your fault, though. Never your fault." It's your turn to squeeze his hand. "I just can't stop thinking about everything." Your hushed words take on an incredulous tone, because you know if anyone other than Jay or Tim heard you, they'd think you were crazy or just being ridiculous. Maybe you were, maybe it was some kind of long, bizarre dream. You know better, though.
"I get that." It's one of Tim's go-to responses as he listens and tries to figure out the best way to respond. "All of this is," there's the tiniest pause in his sentence, "a lot." You slowly nod and move your head to rest against his shoulder. "I know that all of it is really strange and really terrifying." You can almost feel him swallow from where your forehead is resting near his neck.
"If I could find a way to keep you out of it, I would. No matter what it takes, I'm going to make sure you stay safe and stay alive." Tim's words are more than a promise. They're a vow that lands heavily in the silence of the room. "You're safe with me." He repeats, pulling you into him, tighter in a way that you think should be impossible, but you let it happen. You welcome the comfort.
"I love you." Sleep laces your words and your eyes feel heavy again, basking in the secure feeling that Tim always offers you. And even though your mouth doesn't move to finish your thought, you know Tim heard what is left unsaid. That you're so grateful that he's in your life, that you refuse to imagine or acknowledge a life without him.
You barely register his response as your body is finally pulled into sleep, but you know what it is. A grumbly little I love you, too that holds its own silent responses to everything you didn't say.

You fidgeted with your hands, waiting for something to change. You waited for something beyond what was set in stone and had half a mind to leave before it could happen. You couldn’t do it, but you also didn’t have the energy for that either. You didn’t want to deal with the reality of your life. You didn’t want to see any of them leave. Not when you’d known them this long. You worked so hard to keep everyone together, but here it was falling apart in front of you. You felt weak, with nothing but your mind to comfort you. But even saying that felt ironic, given that it was the very thing betraying you. It was overflowing with the future and the realization that you'd never see each other again. You felt much smaller and more insignificant than a waterboarded cigarette. You couldn’t have that light, and you would never give it away. The backseat seemed to cage you in, as you didn’t move. You couldn’t. Even when the trees peered into your vision. All you did was watch. You sat back and watched everything unfold. And maybe that was your problem doing just that. You exhaled a shaky breath as you heard a light exhale from the driver's seat. You looked up in the rear-view mirror to only see your reflection. You could see how tense you looked. How exhausted you looked. Though it was nothing in comparison to the man driving the car. Tim. He had his hair much longer than before with the combination of his thicker facial hair. He hadn’t taken care of himself, which was apparent in everything he did. The way he talked, the way he stood, and even the way he looked at you. You looked away from the mirror to the dashboard, focusing on the dark burn marks left on the thick, dark plastic.
"Your exit should be coming up soon." Tim glanced at you ever so slightly in the mirror as you uncomfortably shifted.
You wanted to curl up into a ball. Was there anything else to be said? Was there anything else you could do? You knew deep within that this was the last time. The time last you’d be in the back of his car. The last time you’d be in the backseat of things.
"A-huh," you muttered, not bothering to raise your voice above a whisper.
You couldn’t bring yourself to. You didn’t want this to be the last time. You didn’t want to lose your friends, though that had already happened. You all vowed to lose contact with one another, and this was it. You’d already lost Jessica in a memory. Could you bear to lose Tim the same way? Could you lock him away in memory? Did you have it in you to let him be happy? Did you have it in you to not be with him to the end? In the uncomfortable silence, you kept your poker face, not letting a tear roll down your face. You were so tired. Tired of everything. Tired of the way you’d do everything you could just for it to fall apart moments later. What were you doing wrong? Did you not do enough? Were you not enough? For a brief moment, your breath was suffocated by those questions. You weren’t ready to say goodbye. You wanted to be self-fish. You wanted to go down with the burning ship.
"Fucking hell," Tim huffed under his breath for a moment focused on something.
"What?" your instinctive curiosity got the better of you, snapping you out of your previous thoughts.
"Running low on gas," he replied as he turned on his turn signal.
He sighed, not in the mood for such stupid problems. You slouched, letting your posture fall as you rested your head against the side of the car. You could feel your seatbelt restricting your movement as cars passed. You didn’t know how, but you felt much calmer. Perhaps it was the fact that he was speaking to you, and it felt like a different, more nostalgic time than this one. It was sad in a way. It showed how delirious you were about the current situation you were in. Why couldn’t you just believe it? It was clear that this was going to happen, but you refused it at every turn. You knew the answers to each one of these questions. You wondered if, in a different life, you and Tim would’ve stayed friends. You wondered if maybe things just hadn’t turned out this way. Maybe Jay would still be here, but, yet again, what-ifs don’t solve anything. The trees that you passed only grew thicker as you went further. Tim eventually reached a small gas station in the middle of nowhere with overwhelmingly low prices. Though in the middle of nowhere, it felt so familiar. You weren’t sure how, but this place seemed to strike a nerve. As if it knew more than you did. He got out of the car just as you did. There was no written rule that said you needed to stay inside. Even when it made little sense for you to get out. You sighed in the fresh air as you got that familiar feeling of being watched. And by the look on his face, Tim could tell that something wasn’t right. Yet, neither of you made a move to go investigate. You both stood there, letting the car fill up. You didn’t bother to run, but you also didn’t care enough to go toward it. You both were just sick of it. That buzzing sound in the back of your mind, in particular.
It was still midday, which felt like an odd time for something like this. Something as depressing as this should’ve happened in the rain or maybe at night. But, no it was in the broad daylight. You exhaled as you tried to stay away from Tim. You tried, but you still felt magnetized by and drawn toward him. He felt safe. He made everything mentally okay, even when he wasn't. He didn’t seem to care enough to comment on your closeness as he finished up his car. He made sure to take his time with it. It almost seemed as if he too was trying to deny the inevitable. The inevitable of getting back into that car. The car that would lead to each other's end. He stood there for a moment before looking toward you.
"I’m gonna go smoke," he informed you, knowing it wasn’t the best of times but still itching to feed the addiction.
You glanced at him for a moment as he left your side. You decided to follow him, which he took immediate notice of. You could consider this an invasion of his personal space, but you'd never see him again. So, what was the risk? Luckily, he didn’t say anything to you and just let it happen. You followed his anxious frame a little to the side of the gas station. Trees blocked your primary view as he reached into his pocket for a cigarette. You leaned your back against the harsh concrete wall of the station, watching the trees wade in the wind. As you heard the flick of a lighter, you could feel the cold brush against you. You could hear Tim muttering random obscurities under his breath as the number of flicks increased. You turned your head toward him as you watched him aggressively try to get his fix. Though his lighter had been worn out. You felt a smile appear on your face as he looked at you through his frustration. You could tell he processed it for a moment as a pink dusting tinted his face. He looked at you for a moment before you reached into your pocket. You felt your way to the cold metal that was your lighter. You didn’t tend to use it all that much, and you bought it because of Tim. Within one stern flick of your lighter, the flame appeared as he lit his cigarette with no problem. You wondered if this were going to be the last time you’d get to see him like this. Would this be your final memory? You didn't know if you were ready to let him go. You didn't want him to exist only in your memory. You wanted him to be with you. He seemed to take note of your tense posture.
"It’s not all bad." he exhaled smoke as you got it secondhand.
"I don’t want to lose you." you sighed, hesitating for a moment with your words.
If these were the last moments you were going to have with one another, you weren’t going to take them for granted. You were going to tell him straight away, so you wouldn’t be thinking about it every day. Just so you wouldn’t lose sleep. Just to have closure even when you didn’t want it. He stayed quiet for a moment or two before he huffed.
"I’m sorry you feel that way, but this has to happen." he tried to be the voice of reason in a situation that had your heart breaking.
"It doesn’t. You're just trying to run away from something again," you told him, knowing how he could react.
Knowing you didn't want to understand his point of view. Knowing you didn't want him to leave your side. He visibly tensed up for a moment, not expecting that. Though he seemed to understand where your stress was coming from. He knew you didn’t want to lose anyone else, and neither did he. And that was exactly why he was leaving.
"Maybe I am, but we both know what’s going to happen if we stay. We can’t fight it, and I don’t want my last memory of you to be your lifeless body." he coughed on the cigarette smoke momentarily as you huffed it.
You couldn’t care less about the nicotine entering your lungs. You could’ve said something about it, but you didn’t. You didn’t want to. There was no way you were going to tell him off about smoking now. You were in too deep. Though his answer showed just how much he cared about Jay, even when he kept making mistakes.
"It's better that we part ways knowing we're still alive than dying in front of each other. We both don’t need that kind of trauma or at least more of it." He held his cigarette lightly, almost as if to have a moment of silence for someone.
You stood there for a moment, letting the silence sink in. You hated how selfish you felt, but it was the right thing, wasn’t it? But what if he was right? Even if it went against everything. What if he was right? You sharply exhaled. You had your reasons, but you couldn’t just keep him there. You wouldn’t be able to. You wouldn’t be able to convince him, and you knew it deep down. No matter how much you tried to deny it. No matter how hard you tried to deceive yourself, this was it. And you were spending your last moments suffering. You hated the fact that you became so close to him. You hated it. It wasn’t fair, but nothing in life is. Because even knowing you’d lose the people you loved you still choose to. You choose to care even though they will ultimately hurt you more when they leave. You moved slightly closer to Tim, knowing you were going through that right now with him.
"Do you think Jay would have recorded this?" you murmured under your breath as you gazed at the trees.
He seemed caught off guard by your out-of-the-blue questions as he tilted his head slightly. He wore an unreadable expression, but not a depressing one. But one that suggested he found it funny.
"I'm not sure, but probably," he huffed, appearing to relax slightly.
You weren't sure why you were asking about something that didn't matter, but it felt right. It felt sobering to have a peaceful conversation about stupid stuff with Tim rather than sobbing about something in the future. For some reason, you didn't want to think about the future. Maybe something had snapped inside of you, or maybe you'd just given up and didn't want to hurt anymore.
"Do you think in a different reality he would’ve tried finishing that movie instead of this?" you sighed in deep thought about meaningless things.
"Maybe, but I doubt it. Hate to say it, but the actual movie was absolute garbage." Tim looked toward the trees as well, maybe sensing something.
"So, why’d you come back? Why did you try to help finish it?" you looked at him for a moment as he averted your gaze.
"For my friends. For Brian and anyone else, I lost contact with. And I hate to say it, but I missed you." he seemed nervous to admit it but decided to go with the truth.
Knowing this, it was apparent, and you should’ve seen it coming. But you just thought of it otherwise. It was kind of ironic that Tim went after you, and now he’s trying to leave you.
"Same reasons over here." you hoped he understood what you meant, and you were sure he did.
You both stood there for a moment, enjoying each other’s company until a light buzz started to ring in the back of your mind. And you knew what it meant. You knew that it was over. You knew what was going to happen, but you wanted to control for once. You wanted to have a choice for once instead of everything being taken away. Even when your choices were so limited.
"I'm going to stay here," you admitted to Tim.
You weren’t going back in that car with that awkward silence. You wanted it to be a happy memory just like this one, so you opted to just call someone else. He seemed hurt by your words and also felt the urge to argue against them. But he knew what he had chosen, and he couldn’t go back.
"You take care out there," he said, looking at you making eye contact and as you looked back you were hit with a different kind of pain.
He looked like he had so much more to say to you, but chose not to. You both left it on that note, as the static only increased. He had hurried movements as he seemed to worry about you. You dismissed his looks. You remembered watching him get into that car and the way he looked at you for the final time. You remembered the empty feeling in your stomach. From when he left your side to when he left your sight. You let him go. You had to let him go because he was your favorite person and you could only manage to wish the best for him. You wished you could’ve said you went back into his car. You wished you could’ve said you didn’t find his missing poster a week from that day. Though that wouldn’t be true if you did say that. Because you didn’t do that.
A/n: this is simply a test oneshot that I wanted to write. I’m still rewatching Marble Hornets, as it’s been a while, so Tim’s characterization is going to be a bit off. this is hella everywhere, and this IS my first time writing for Tim. I won’t be going to in-depth with trying to really explore the dark side of Tim, nor explore Masky’s character too much, but if this gets a good reaction, then I will gladly try my hand at exploring Tim’s character as well as Masky’s.

Chapter One (HERE) | Chapter Two | Chapter Three | Chapter Four | Chapter Five | Chapter Six | Chapter Seven | Chapter Eight
His skin was incredibly warm against your face, the heat radiating through the fabric of his shirt as your face nuzzled into the heat. He smelled like cigarettes, the woods, and a hint of Old Spice, a strange but comforting smell.
The man in your bed snored quietly, untethered by his anxiety as he slept peacefully.
You could not say the same.
For many nights, nightmares of a faceless man haunted you, your sleep disrupted by the impending doom this being brought with him within your dreams, and you stayed sleepless from the anxiety he implemented into your mind.
Tim's skin comforted you, but you could not stay still for long. Slowly, you began to get out of the bed, careful not to wake him up. Slipping on your flip-flops, you grabbed his cigarettes and lighter. Before you could exit the room, however, Tim startled you.
"Where are you going?"
Anxiety stemmed in his voice like poison as his chocolate eyes glanced at you, and you sighed quietly, waving his cigarettes in the air.
"Sleepless...needed a smoke real quick. Ya mind?"
Tim slowly got up, his back popping and he stood up, his boisterous and tall frame quickly making his way to you. He seemed nervous as he replied.
"Let me go with you."
"Tim, it's just a quick break."
He bit his lip before saying shyly.
"But I like being with you."
Your cheeks heated for a moment and you masked your embarrassment by smirking and laughing lightly.
"Aw, can't get enough of me, huh?"
Tim's shoulders relaxed and he teased back, grabbing his pack of cigarettes.
"Oh, never ever."
You chuckled before stepping out onto the porch. Sitting on the steps beside one another, you lit up your cigarette before lighting Tim's, his tired eyes flicking to yours for a second before looking away.
As your eyes glanced around the darkness, you got that impending sense of doom and bit your lip, uneasily looking around. Tim cocked his head at you, asking.
"Are you okay?"
You smiled at him, nodding and hiding your uneasiness.
"Yes, I'm just exhausted. Haven't been sleeping too well. Too stressed out to."
Tim's knee rubbed against yours as he scooted closer.
"What's stressing you out? Maybe I can help."
A faceless tall being that definitely wants to kill me.
"Work. Boss is being a jerk again. Nothing a good smoke and kiss from my favorite man in the whole wide world can't take care of."
Tim smiled a bit, ears turning pink before he leaned in, gently kissing your lips. His lips were soft and full against yours, slightly wet from his saliva and tasting like the cigarette nestled between his fingers. Tim asked you, brown eyes staring gently into yours, his voice soft as his forehead rest against yours.
"Feel better?"
You smiled and for a second, you glanced over his shoulder and felt your soul get sucked down deep into the deepest pit of your being.
There. In the treeline. You knew that white faceless head anywhere.
However, when you shook your head and blinked, the image disappeared, but the damage had been done. Tim was confused, looking behind him to search for what spooked you as you flicked your unfinished slag into the dense grass.
"Hey, babe, what's wrong?"
"I...just thought I saw something was all. Gosh, I really am exhausted and stressed out."
Rubbing your palm against your forehead, you felt incredibly fatigued, a headache forming in the back of your head. You felt nauseous, uneasy, needing to be anywhere but outside in the darkness surrounded by his domain.
Tim was quick to come beside you, worried for you. You seemed so spooked from whatever it was you saw....and Tim began to think that he knew exactly what it was that you saw.
It worried him.
Tim walked beside you, gently placing his hand on the small of your back and suggesting.
"Maybe you should take it easy for a couple days...call in sick and just rest for a while?"
You sighed, placing your head against his shoulder and wrapping your arm around his back.
"I...guess I could try. I haven't really been giving myself a chance to take it easy lately. Feel like I can't sometimes."
He knew that feeling. Tim, despite his growing worry, kissed your temple.
"Well, I'll be here to help you. You deserve to have a couple days off after working so hard. What made you even take the nightshift?"
"Didn't like the smell of your farts when you're sleeping."
Tim began to laugh, your smile widening as you giggled. He nudged you with his hip, teasing you.
"Shut up. I'm not as bad as you are."
"Sure, Tim. Sure."
He huffed playfully before pushing you, making you gasp and fall into the bed with laughter, the fear momentarily forgotten as you both climbed back into bed.
When you awoke in the morning, the side of the bed was unbearably cold. Sitting up, your sore muscles creaked and bones popped.
"Tim?"
However, there was no reply. Quiet shuffling in the hallway caught your attention, and you slowly got up, thinking that maybe Tim didn't hear you. Rubbing your eyes, you entered the living room and said when the shuffling stopped.
"Tim, what are you doing up so early? It's the weekend...do you have an appointment with your doctor?"
Opening your eyes, you froze when you spied someone that was definitely not Tim. Their face was obscured by a white mask with black eyes and black lips, their eyes so dark that you were sure they placed black mesh on the inside.
Before you could open your mouth to scream, the man tackled you to the ground and punched you hard in the temple, effectively knocking you out.
-POV CHANGE-
The man was intrigued as he stared down at your limp form beneath him, hair splayed out against the floor. His hand brushed a strand of your hair from your face, his head tilting. He knew that the host harbored strong and genuine feelings for you, but the being, Masky, as he had been dubbed by Hoodie, didn't understand why at all.
Feelings were weaknesses...hindrances to the job, but despite Masky's stubbornness and refusal to acknowledge what his host cared for, Tim's feelings were so strong that they influenced Masky's. Masky felt an acute attachment to you, a protectiveness that he had never felt for anybody but the Operator before...and he hated it.
Granted, he didn't want to hurt you, but it was best if you stayed out of the limelight...stayed out of his business. If you meddled with his affairs, it would mean he would have to kill you to keep you quiet. Honestly, Masky didn't want to have to kill you. You intrigued him, and he wanted to know more. What was it about you that made his host so in love with you? How did you give his host so much power?
You seemed like a normal girl...almost so normal it made you boring to him. You weren't getting some special degree, you had a run-down 9-5, and sure, you appeared in a lot of Tim's memories that Masky would catch a glimpse of....and you did have an alluring body from what Masky could see of during intimate moments he would pry into when he was bored....but that was all Masky could see.
You were so uninteresting that it made you intriguing.
It was times like these that made Masky wish he had his own body instead of having to inhibit the body of a deteriorating man. Granted, Masky (and therefore Tim) would live forever as long as the Operator found use for him, but it would be easier to be in a body created just for Masky.
Masky's fingers brushed against your cheekbone, gently feeling the softness of your skin and he relaxed lightly. He hated how being around you made him soft. He hated feeling what his Host was feeling. These feelings weren't his own, this....affection...this need to be around you. How could Masky eliminate it?
Grabbing the switchblade from his pocket, Masky flipped it open and brought it down against your skin, trailing the tip along your chest.
The want to kill you was strong as was the need to get rid of hindrances, but as Masky tried to push the knife into your jugular, his arm paused.
What was he doing?
Why was he stalling?
Masky grew frustrated and slammed the knife down beside your head. God dammit! It would hurt his host so badly if he knew his hands killed his lover. Masky could take full control, but his host's damn body wouldn't sink the knife into your neck.
Fuck this. Fuck this stupid bitch and her influence over his Host. Fuck this body and fuck Tim. If Masky could kill Tim without killing himself, oh how Masky would do so.
Standing up, Masky picked you up by your wrists and dragged you to the bedroom, placing you back into bed before deciding to leave.
If he couldn't have fun killing you then he would have fun with someone else.
-TIMESKIP-
When you awoke, it was dark and a headache sent searing pain down your spine. You felt like you got hit by a bus, grunting as you sat up and grabbing your head. The bedside was cold, Tim apparently gone. Grabbing your phone, you turned it on to find a text from Tim.
'Had to go take care of business. Will be back soon. I love you.'
It was sent around six in the morning, and looking at your clock, it was now 12am. Your eyes bugged from your head. How had you slept for that long? Why wasn't Tim back yet?
Scrolling to Tim's name, you pressed on it, hearing the dialing tone as you waited for him to pick up. It rung two or three times before Tim picked up.
"Hey (Y/n)."
"Tim, where are you? You didn't tell me you were gonna be out this long...is everything okay?"
He sounded out of breath as if he had been running, and Tim coughed heavily, trying to say between his coughs.
"I'm fine, I just....got caught up with some friends. I didn't think it would be this long. I'm sorry."
You bit your lip, sighing.
"It's okay. I'm just worried about you is all. I was asleep the whole day...where are you?"
Tim was hesitant before he answered, his voice quiet.
“I’m...in Rosswood Park.”
“Rosswood? Why Ross-”
A knocking on the front door cut you off and you mumbled to yourself.
“Who the fuck would be knocking at this hour? It’s like 1am.”
Tim asked, sounding worried.
“Wait, someone’s at the door? Don’t answer it!”
You frowned and asked, pausing in front of the front door.
“Why? Is there something you’re not telling me, Tim?”
Tim cursed quietly before pleading.
“I promise I’ll explain it, just please...please don’t answer the door. Go into the bathroom and lock the door, I’m gonna be home soon, okay? Stay on the phone with me.”
Static began to inch into your brain, and your heart began to race in anxiety as that impending doom came over you, and you began to whisper to yourself as you backed away from the door.
“Oh, no...no, no, no.”
“What? What is it?”
You stayed quiet, however, shuffling into the bathroom quickly and locking the door before going into the bathtub, closing the curtain. Your breathing began to pick up, and you began to cough, dropping the phone into your lap and covering your mouth so you could be quiet. When you settled, your heart was pounding, and you could hear Tim calling for you through the phone.
“(Y/n), please answer me!”
“I’m fine...Tim, what’s going on? What have you been keeping from me?”
Tim was quiet and he said to you in a defeated tone.
“I’ll...I’ll explain when I get there. What’s going on? Are you safe?”
You certainly didn’t feel safe.
“I...I don’t know...I don’t know at all.”
A piercing headache made you hiss, and suddenly static began to fill your head. Your eyes pricked with tears, knowing what was coming, and you whispered to yourself as you grabbed your head, your phone and Tim forgotten.
“No, leave me alone...leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone!”
“(Y/n)? (Y/n), answer me, what’s going on?”
However, you didn’t answer him, watching as the black tendrils began to creep above the shower curtain towards you, and you whispered.
“Tim...Tim, I’m sorry.”
Why were you apologizing? Why did you feel like this was your fault? Was it because you were sure that you were about to die and leave Tim broken again? The last thing you heard was Tim yelling your name before the black tendrils swallowed you into their abyss.
-TIMESKIP-
When you came to, all you could smell was the pungent smell of the earth, your face resting against the dampness of the dirty. Sitting up slowly, you rubbed your head, trying to remember how you got here in the woods. The last thing you remembered, however, was calling Tim. You can’t remember when or what you talked about, but you knew that you talked to him.
Coughs began to rack your body, and your eyes caught the glint of a camcorder just a few feet away. Grabbing it, you turned it on, finding that there was a completely new tape in the device. Turning the cam on night vision, you began to maneuver your way through the woods.
The thickness of the woods made it hard to find your way, but eventually, you were able to get your way to a trail. It unnerved you that the woods looked familiar to you. Where were you? How did you get here? You didn’t remember the trip here at all.
You didn’t know which way would leave you to the front, so you went with your gut and began to trek to the left, following the trail as you walked. You whimpered slightly at the feeling of warmth running down your neck and when you rubbed your hand against it, you found that it was wet....wet with dark blood. Had someone hit you? Had you hit something?
Biting your lip, you tried to keep calm, but with the increasing confusion, you were beginning to panic. Your breathing was quickening, and all you wanted was to be in Tim’s arms.
Speaking of which, where was he? Was he okay? Did he know you were gone? You bit your lip and began to walk faster, feeling as though you were being watched. You hated this. You hated not knowing what could be lurking in the shadows...if it was lurking in the shadows.
You shivered as you walked, the coldness of the night seeping through your clothes, and you stared into the camera to watch where you were going. Suddenly, there was a noise in the distance and you froze. For a moment, it was quiet, before it sounded off again.
It was a voice calling your name.
You turned, trying to gauge where it was coming from before you screamed, seeing the faceless being behind you. You spun and began to run, stumbling your way through the darkness. The voice began to get louder, but you were too manic to care. You just needed to get away from the thing. Faster and faster you ran, trying to gain any distance you could when you practically tackled a tree, your face slamming into the bark.
However, when the tree fell with you, you found that it wasn’t a tree at all, but a body. A very warm and very familiar body. Your nose had begun to bleed from how hard it had smacked into the man’s chest, and you both groaned before Tim quickly gained his senses and scrambled over to you, grabbing you and helping you.
“Come on, baby, come on! We gotta go!”
You were beginning to hyperventilate from the fear, coughs wanting to escape as you breathed such short breaths, and Tim cursed before picking you up bridal style and beginning to run to the entrance to the trails.
“Stay with me, baby, okay? Just breathe. We’re gonna be okay.”
You were trying to breathe, trying to say his name, but you were shaking and hyperventilating so badly that you couldn’t do much but try not to pass out. Tim looked down at you, cursing at your state, and he tried to pick up the pace.
When you finally exited the woods, Tim was quick to get you to his car and settle you into the front seat. You were sobbing by this time, so lost within your panic and fear that you were almost inconsolable. However, Tim was determined as he gently cupped your face and coaxed you to looked at him.
“Baby, look at me. We’re gonna be okay. We’re gonna be fine.”
It was almost as if he was trying to comfort himself as he spoke, but Tim’s chocolate eyes stayed on you, his thumbs gently rubbing your wet cheeks.
“I-I....I knew! I knew it was real....I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! I’ve been having nightmares about it, but I just figured it was a figment of my imagination! So I let it go! But oh god, it’s real, it’s real and it’s going to kill me, Tim.”
You rushed out, eyes squeezing shut and Tim shook you a bit.
“No, don’t talk like that. I won’t let it hurt you, okay? You’re going to be okay. We will be okay.”
You shook your head, hands holding onto his wrists and you cried to him.
“I’m so scared, Tim, I’m so scared...!”
Tim brought you into his arms, holding you so tightly to him.
“I know, baby, I am too. I’m going to protect you and get us out of here and we’ll never come back.”
You whispered to him, shaking your head.
“No matter where we go, we will always end up back here...we’re never going to be able to leave, Tim...it won’t let us.”
You sniffled and Tim held you tighter, almost growling.
“Then I’ll just have to kill it.”
You bit your lip before whispering.
“Tim, can we please leave? I can’t...I can’t be here anymore. I don’t want to be here anymore.”
Tim nodded before he paused, his fingers gently brushing the back of your neck and against the cold and drying blood.
“Holy shit-!”
Tim quickly turned your head, inspecting the wound on the back of your head that was still slowly bleeding.
“Jesus christ, you’re bleeding. What happened?”
“I...I don’t know. I can’t remember. I only remember calling you to ask you where you were after I woke up....but I can’t...I can’t remember anything else.”
Tim looked alarmed before he rubbed his face, becoming stressed and he took a couple deep breaths before asking you, rushing to the front seat.
“I’m gonna take you to the hospital and get you help...I’m so sorry, (Y/n). I should have explained it to you earlier...but I thought it was finally gone...I was getting better...we were doing fine.”
He seemed confused, almost helpless as he gripped the steering wheel tightly before finally escaping out of Rosswood park. You stared at Tim as he drove, his eyes revealing his storming thoughts, and when he felt your staring, he glanced over at you. Tim was quiet before he gently took your hand. He was shaking, and you asked him softly, tears pricking your eyes again.
“Is...is this why they’re all gone...? Jay...Brian and Seth....Alex....it’s because of that thing, isn’t it?”
Tim nodded slowly, and you looked away, becoming panicked again.
“Oh god, what if it takes you? I...I don’t want to lose you, or me? What if it takes me next? Oh god...!”
Tim tightened his hold on your hand, saying.
“It isn’t going to hurt you or me. Not anymore. We’re going to be okay, but you gotta breathe for me, baby. We gotta be calm.”
He was terrible at this comforting thing, but Tim knew that if he didn’t calm you down somehow, you were going to lose your mind. He had to keep you calm...collected...in order to make any progress. Tim glanced over to see you clutching a camcorder and he asked you.
“Where did you get that?”
You looked down at the device still clutched in your hand and still recording before replying.
“I...I don’t know...I woke up in the woods and it was a few feet away...I took it because I didn’t have anything to help me see through the woods.”
You clutched onto Tim’s hand as your head began to hurt, and you let the camcorder sit on the floorboard as you leaned onto Tim’s arm, holding onto him and trying to calm your racing heart. Tim kissed the top of your head softly, saying to you.
“I need you to stay awake for me, okay? I don’t know if you’re concussed, but I don’t want to take that risk.”
You nodded, replying softly, feeling so sleepy.
“Okay...I’ll try...where are we going to go after we get to the hospital?”
Tim was quiet before he replied to you, driving faster.
“Anywhere but here.”

Three days. It had been three days since you last saw the masked man and Tim. You’ve tried calling his phone, but it seem that his phone was off or dead since you last saw him, going straight to his voicemail. You were going nuts, trying to figure out what to do.
Where could Tim have gone? You had his car, most of his stuff, and there was no sign of him showing up. You were lost, if you were honest. If Tim was still in Rosswood, you didn’t know if it would be safe to return. The masked man had even told you that Tim would return…though, he never said when. Was it possible that he had been lying?
Your nails were ruined from how much you had been biting them, your body restless and having lost much sleep for the three days and nights that Tim had been missing. The camera that you had awakened in the woods with was sitting on the table of the apartment, waiting for you to look into the tape that nestled within the crevices within; waiting for you to reveal the secrets hidden on the film.
You had bought a charger for the camera albeit having to search far and wide, and when you were able to get one, you were quick to get home and start charging the camera. Now, all you could do was wait until it was fully charged. Though, you didn’t want to wait. What if there was something that you were missing? Your eyes strayed to the piece of paper you had found in Jessica’s apartment.
Was it possible that the message was telling you that you were the next ark, or that you needed to find the ark? You had deducted that the Ark had actually been Alex, since his initials actually spelled out the word Ark. If this message was telling you that you were the next ‘Ark’ then it made no sense. There was no way you could be another Alex…it just wasn’t possible.
Was it?
You shook your head, running your hand through your hair. You were over-thinking this. You breathed deeply, calming yourself down. You were going to give yourself another panic attack, and you really didn’t need that at the moment. Sitting on the edge of your seat in the living room, your leg was shaking up and down as you tried to think of something to do.
Maybe you could get something to eat? You had already cleaned the whole apartment at least twice now, the fridge spic and span and free of any disgusting old food. You shook your head. You needed to save your money…though, you hadn’t exactly gone grocery shopping yet. Maybe you could do that? You really shouldn’t leave the apartment without some sort of self-defense for if that other masked man came after you again, and all you had was some measly knife. Hell, you didn’t even know how to fight well.
You sighed and leaned back onto the couch, hands on your stomach and pouting. By this point, if Jay was still here, he probably would have been able to do something by now. What would Jay have done? You tapped your fingers before humming, grabbing your laptop.
Typing into YouTube, you brought up the Marble Hornets channel, looking to see if there was any update at all. However, the channel was still as dead as it was two years ago. You went to the channel totheark and looked at all of their videos, seeing the same videos and no updates either.
The channels were dead quiet, the activity had been quiet…it’s just been quiet.
You missed Tim.
Sighing, you ran a hand through your hair, pushing your laptop away. You missed his scent, his touch, his lips against your skin…you missed your lover, and you were so goddamn worried about him. What was he doing? Where was he? What was the entity living within Tim doing with his body?
You were sure that his phone would only go to his voicemail if you tried to call him again, but god, you wanted to hear his voice again. Groaning, you muttered to yourself.
“Ugh, what do I do…what is there that I can do?”
You closed your eyes, your exhaustion creeping up on you, and you huffed lightly. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to sleep for a bit…but what if Tim called you? What if he finally came home? You wanted to be awake for that…for him. But if he did come home…would he still be the masked man?
The masked man said he kept the Operator at bay…but how was that possible? Was there more to the masked man than both you and Tim thought? You rubbed your head and bit your lip. You were starting to get a headache. Deciding to lay down, you sighed and covered your eyes to block out the sunlight that was filtering in the room.
You could think about it later, but for right now, a nap was definitely due. Perhaps your mind would be much clearer after actually getting some rest.
“So, you wanna tell me why you decided to randomly pick me up from my house and drag me out into public?”
The man beside you chuckled as the two of you walked, saying to you as he looked over at you.
“I wanted you to come along with me to meet up with Brian and his friend, Tim. We’re going to be going over some things with Marble Hornets. I thought it would be fun to have you tag along.”
You rubbed the back of your neck, shrugging.
“I don’t know, Alex. You know how I am with meeting new people and all…is there gonna be food?”
Alex laughed lightly, his head falling back slightly and he shook his head, readjusting his glasses.
“Always about the food, huh? Yes, there’s food. We’re meeting up at the pizza place.”
You hummed in delight at the thought of pizza, and you both rounded the corner.
“Alex, you always seem to read my stomach so well.”
Alex teased, pushing his shoulder into yours and making you laugh loudly.
“Well, you learn a thing or two when your friend never stops complaining about never getting pizza.”
The two of you shared a couple laughs, your body leaning up against his own before you spied Brian and who seemed to be his friend, Tim. Brian was smiling at Tim, who seemed slightly nervous, and when you both locked eyes, you almost felt the wind get knocked out of you.
Alex had not mentioned how handsome Brian’s friend was.
Tim had seemed to pause as he looked on at you as well, and you began to look him over. He was wearing black tennis shoes with a couple of worn holes in the netting, obviously having had them for a long time. A very nice pair of jeans framed his lower half, a red and long-sleeved Henley hugging his upper half. Tim sported a nice pair of side-burns, strangely attractive on his youthful face. His eyes were a pretty shade of brown, catching the light just right as he gazed on at you.
His hair looked incredibly soft, a beautiful shade of black that shined when the light struck it. You wondered if it was as soft as it looked. You smiled softer, acknowledging Tim with a soft ‘hello,’ and all he could do was wave with a dumb-struck look on his face. Alex and Brian shared a look, and Alex shook his head before giving you a nudge.
“Come on, I thought you were hungry for pizza?”
You stumbled a bit before smiling at him, giving him finger guns.
“I’m always hungry for pizza!”
-TIMESKIP-
About two meals-worth of food later, you were completely stuffed but extremely happy. Alex had taken out a couple of notebooks and papers of his project, going over the scripts with Brian and Tim. However, Tim seemed distracted, occasionally stealing glances at you and watching you as you sipped your drink and hummed quietly to yourself as you watched the outside world.
You were very beautiful.
Tim hadn’t expected for you to be as beautiful as you were, but here you were. Smiling to yourself while you daydreamed, the sun shining on you and making you look even more surreal. Tim was almost embarrassed from how red and nervous he had been the whole time. You both hadn’t really exchanged any words, but it didn’t feel awkward. Just…a comfortable acknowledgement.
Tim licked his lips, and you glanced over at him, making his ears burn as he looked away, acting as if he was listening to Alex. You felt yourself going red yourself and you glanced at the menu sitting beside the napkin dispenser. There was a large drink for two people, a mega sundae shake, and you smiled as you got an idea. You nudged Tim with your foot, his head shooting to you, and you pointed to the advertisement for the shake.
“Do you wanna share this with me? Alex isn’t big on sweets like this.”
Tim looked shocked, and Brian and Alex seemed to hold their breath as they stared at you two. Tim blinked before he shyly nodded, and you smiled before ordering one enthusiastically.
“You are gonna pay for that, right?”
Alex asked you, and you blushed, crossing your arms.
“Um, of course! What kind of woman do you take me for, Kralie?”
Alex snorted, and Tim lightly spoke up, making you stare at him.
“I don’t mind…paying for it.”
You replied, shaking your hands in front of you.
“No, no, no! I’m the one who asked, so I should pay for it!”
Tim was quiet before he offered.
“We could split the bill?”
You nodded, and in no time, you both were going to town on the shake, finally getting into some small talk as Brian and Alex finished up their discussion for Marble Hornets. You learned that Tim enjoyed shitty sitcoms, classic rock, and the color blue. You learned that his skin looked soft to the touch, his eyes kind and eager despite the nervousness that filtered through. You learned his hands were incredibly warm whenever they would brush against yours, and you learned that he didn’t like maraschino cherries but rather black cherries.
You learned a lot about him that day.
-TIMESKIP-
It had been a long while since you had met Tim, having grown incredibly close with the man over the course of the months since the pizza parlor and Alex finally beginning to shoot Marble Hornets. Many days, you both had spent together studying or helping him go over his lines for his scenes in Marble Hornets. It was innocent to you in the beginning. You were just…helping Tim out and spending time with him! That was all.
However, as the days had gone on, you found yourself becoming nervous around him, your heart fluttering and stomach stuttering each time he came by. Your heart would pound and race whenever Tim would smile at you, each time his skin brushed against yours subtly, purposefully, or accidentally. You found your hang-out sessions getting longer and longer, sometimes Tim even staying the night with you as you both battled each other in video games.
You were completely oblivious to Tim’s crush on you, but you weren’t oblivious to your own growing feelings for him. It wasn’t that silly little crush most friends would get; that acute interest that would die away the stronger the friendship would get. No, this ran much deeper.
Tim had revealed to you things about himself that he hadn’t even told Brian yet, and you had told him things about yourself that Alex didn’t know either. You both confided in each other often, taking comfort in each other’s presence. If you would come across him in public, it wouldn’t be long until you both met eyes, smiled, and gravitated towards each other.
You hadn’t done anything about it, however, until that fateful day.
You had been lying in your bed, the early Sunday morning soft within its sunrise, and you were wide awake. Was it okay to have these feelings for Tim? What if Alex got upset? He had been getting awfully stressed out these past few months, and you didn’t want to burden him at all with something as miniscule as a crush. What if you became a distraction for Tim when he would work with Alex and the rest of the crew?
Of course, these were petty worries conjured up by the anxiety in your veins, but god, you didn’t know how much longer you could keep your crush a secret. Were you painfully obvious? You hoped that you weren’t. Alex had pointed it out one day to you when you had gone over to his house to help him edit some of the film for Marble Hornets.
“You’re so obvious about how much you like him, you know,” he had said. “You should tell him.”
You scoffed. Just tell him? That was absurd! You couldn’t do that. What if you ruined the friendship? Your heart ached, however, and it was then you noticed how cold your bed felt. Would it be warmer if Tim was there with you? Your face turned hot, and you bit your lip, hiding your face and rolling over. You really had to do something, or it was going to eat you up.
Sitting up, you looked at your phone and began to bite your nails. Shooting out of bed, you began to pace, weighing your options on how good of an idea it was to tell Tim about your crush. Was this the right choice? What if he didn’t like you back? Maybe he saw you as a sibling…god, that would really suck!
No! You had to do this. You had to get it off your chest. It wasn’t fair to you to drive yourself mad with this. You could do it. You were a big girl. Grabbing your phone, you quickly pulled up Tim’s contact and texted.
‘Come over.’
When it sent, you almost screamed, throwing your phone down onto the bed. Why did you do that? What if he was busy? What if he thought it was too forward? You began to pace again, cussing to yourself and groaning loudly before your phone vibrated. You snatched the phone up with acute vigor, seeing Tim’s reply.
‘Right now?’
You bit your nails. There was no going back.
‘Yes.’
Tim texted in no time.
‘Okay. Is everything okay?’
‘Yes, just come over.’
Your heart was racing, and you all but screamed when you saw your appearance in your mirror. You couldn’t look like you just rolled out of bed when Tim got here! Granted, that’s exactly what you did, but still! Grabbing your brush, you began to quickly brush out your hair. Brushing your teeth and freshening your face up, you cursed when you heard knocking on the front door. Dammit, you hadn’t even changed from your super short-shorts and night shirt!
Wiping your clammy hands on your shirt, you opened the door. Tim was waiting patiently, a bag in his hand. He looked very handsome, his hair slightly slicked back and a red flannel on him this time. Tim smiled down at you, saying shyly.
“I managed to pick up some quick breakfast for us if you’re in the mood for breakfast sandwiches.”
You were flattered beyond belief and impressed that he had managed to pick up breakfast so fast…was it possible he had already been out getting some? It was obvious that he looked ready to go somewhere. Your wide-eyed look made Tim pause, and he asked you, letting his hand with the bag fall to his side.
“(Y/n), are you okay?”
You simply surged forward and cupped his face with both hands. Standing on your toes, you kissed him, pressing your lips against his firmly as if scared of the consequence for your action. You heard the bag fall from Tim’s hand, could feel him inhale sharply, and as you were about to pull away, Tim pressed back against you. His hands pulled your hips to his own, your tongues clashing, and for a second, you both took a moment to breathe.
Tim was breathing slightly heavily, staring down at you with wide eyes, and you swallowed thickly, tasting the cigarette he must have had before coming here. Once more, your lips met, and it was a jumbled mess of limbs and clothing as you two disappeared into the bedroom that day.
When all was said and done, you were laying on Tim’s chest, head tucked against his shoulder and neck as your hand rest right above his heart. You could feel his racing heartbeat calming with each deep breath he took, and you could feel the warmth of his arms around you, his thumb rubbing your sweaty skin gently. You were still breathing a bit heavy, your hair sticking to your face from the sweat, and you knew that you would be incredibly sore later, your thighs already aching.
It was quiet for that moment, just enjoying each other’s company and basking in the comfort that was each other. You sighed as you readjusted, nuzzling Tim slightly, and he sighed, his lips brushing against the top of your head. You bit your lip before you mumbled.
“Tim…?”
He was quiet before he replied.
“Yeah?”
You swallowed thickly.
This was it.
“I really like you.”
You could feel Tim’s heart begin to race slightly, and you looked up at Tim. His eyes were a bit wide, and a small smile began to grow on his face, blushing deeply.
“I really like you too, (Y/n).”
You nodded tiredly before Tim asked.
“Do you…wanna go out with me?”
You nodded once more, and the two of you were quiet once more before you smiled at the absurdity of the situation. It would have been so easy just to confess to him. What were you even worried about? Smiling, you rolled over completely on top of Tim, his hands coming down to rest on your hips as you leaned down to kiss him, feeling so right within his arms, feeling so good to be with him like this.
Your eyes opened slowly, your limbs heavy from how hard you had been sleeping. It was almost hard to wake up, your body begging you to go back to sleep, and you sat up. It was hard to even move, and you wondered if your body was trying to go into an episode of sleep paralysis.
You made your way to the kitchen, making a pot of coffee and trying to wake up more, and you glared at the darkness that greeted you. It was dark outside, signaling that your nap had taken much longer that you thought it would. The clock on the stove read as 8:45pm, and you sighed. Your sleep schedule was really going to suffer because of this.
Grabbing the coffee, you downed the cup before looking back at the living room, spying the charged camera. Setting your cup down, you grabbed the camera and turned it on. The camera’s screen was bright, and you were glad it wasn’t too damaged. Clicking to the footage, you began to play it, biting your lip.
It immediately started with footage of your apartment, zooming in when you would pass by the window. It seemed to be late at night, and whoever was holding the camera began to run to the apartment, climbing up to get a better look into the apartment. Through the curtains, you could see yourself and Tim, side by side as you both cooked dinner. His right hand was on the small of your back, tucked beneath the skin of your shirt, his gaze trained onto you as you stirred whatever it was that you had been cooking that night.
Then, it seemed to skip to later that night, when you had been sleepless and needed a smoke…the night when it officially began to run downhill. You could hear yourself speaking to Tim, but it distorted for a second, some visual tearing showing up as you spied the thing in the woods.
So, it had really been there.
You bit your lip as you watched on. There was a bit of corrupted footage, but the next sequence made you inhale sharply. Whoever was holding the camera was in your kitchen, Tim as the masked man rummaging around the drawers seemingly for Tim’s pills. You heard yourself call out, and it was then that you watched Tim deck you right in the face, your body dropping like a sack of potatoes.
At least that isn’t where your head wound had come from. But if that wasn’t where it came from, how did you get your injury? When you dropped, you watched as the masked man knelt beside you, looking you over and gently brushing a strand of hair from your face. He stayed there for about twenty seconds before the person with the camera moved, pushing him lightly.
Masky seemed to grow frustrated and shot up at the camera, and the footage glitched. There was a lot of visual tearing and corruption coming across the screen, and you hoped that the footage wasn’t beyond repair. After a couple of moments, the video cut to you being carried over Tim’s shoulder through Rosswood, limp upon his shoulder, and he seemed to be stiff as he walked, looking around for any sign of danger.
Tim set you down after a cough escaped his lips, and he lifted his mask to reveal his lips. The person behind the camera handed Tim a bottle of pills, and he was quick to take one. As he was fishing the pills out, you seemed to wake up. Neither of the men noticed you getting up before you finally began to run. The masked man spun, and the footage began to severely tear and glitch. Your breathing was heavy in the speakers despite you not being on screen, and then the next scene revealed how you had gotten your wound.
When you had been running, you tripped over your own feet, falling face first into the earth, and Tim caught up to you in no time. As you tried to scramble up, Tim grabbed the closest stick that he could and baseball-batted it into the back of your skull. You were out almost immediately once again, and the cameraman slowly walked up to you, standing over you as the wound began to immensely bleed.
The camera zoomed in on the dark liquid seeping from your skull, and the masked man dropped the stick. Kneeling beside you, he pressed his fingers against your wound, rubbing his fingers as they came back red and sticky. The black gloved hand from behind the camera handed the masked man a piece of cloth, and the masked man pressed it against your skull, picking you up as if you were a baby and beginning his trek once more.
The camera cut out once more until it cut to the moment the masked man had laid you down on the ground in the position you had awakened in. The cloth that he had been holding against your skull was completely soaked, and the back of your shirt had a growing dark patch in it. The footage glitched, and it showed only you lying on the ground, still completely out. It was like that for a good twenty minutes before it showed the footage of you waking up, and you shut the camera off.
So, it really had been Tim who had hurt you…or rather, whatever the being was inside of him. You couldn’t let Tim see this tape. If Tim saw this tape, he would never forgive himself…maybe even try to leave you. No, no, Tim wouldn’t be that drastic….would he?
Taking the tape out of the cartridge, you closed the case and bit your lip. You weren’t going to take any chances. Walking into your bedroom, you looked around for a place to put the tape before just settling on placing it beneath the bed.
Lying on the ground, you crawled under the bed and strategically placed the tape between the mattress and the bars for the beds frame. Once you were satisfied, you began to wriggle out from underneath the bed, just hoping and praying that it wouldn’t pop out somehow in some way in the future.
Finally, when you sat up, you could hear your phone begin to ring from the living room and practically bolted for the phone. Picking it up, you answered.
“Hello?”
“Leave the house.”
You were frozen. It was Tim…but you knew it wasn’t really him speaking. It was quiet for a moment before he repeated his order.
“Leave the house.”
“What? Why? Where are you, what’s going on?”
The phone was hung up, and you didn’t think twice to pack your bags again real quick. Grabbing your laptop, you stared at the camera for a second before grabbing it and the charger and running to Tim’s car. Throwing your bags in, you got into the driver seat and started driving. A text came in from your phone from an unknown number.

Your mind went blank, and you shook your head in confusion. What the fuck was that supposed to mean? Was it some sort of code? Your mind strayed to Brian and totheark, and you bit your lip. If this was a code, then you would have to figure out and fast, especially if it had anything to do with Tim. However, at the moment, you would have to forget about it.
You drove to a nearby hotel, parking around the back and letting your head fall against the seat. Fucking hell, this was getting so out of hand. The car door to the passenger seat opened, making you gasp and jump, and the masked man sat in the passenger seat, practically slamming the door shut. It was quiet for a moment before he turned to you. You were quiet, simply staring at him, and he asked.
“Did you get a room yet?”
You shook your head, replying.
“I just got here, but you should already know that since you were apparently following me. Where’s Tim?”
The masked man’s eyes crinkled slightly, something that Tim did when he would get annoyed.
“Sleeping.”
You swallowed thickly before replying.
“Wake him up, then.”
The masked man glared at you, and you glared right back, crossing your arms stubbornly. He simply scoffed and replied.
“You’re not safe yet.”
“Why do you feel the need to protect me?”
The masked man turned to you and huffed.
“The Host relies on you. If the Host is compromised, he becomes susceptible, and I will cease to be able to keep the Operator at bay. My job is to keep you safe, no matter what it costs.”
“Like hitting me in the back of the skull with a big ass stick, right?”
He was quiet, turning away. You sighed, rubbing your face, and you took the keys out of the ignition, grabbing your things.
“Stay here.”
You muttered. Getting out, you went to the hotel lobby, buying a hotel room for two days and two nights. Walking out to the car, you knocked on the window of the passenger side and Masky got out. Quietly, the both of you walked to your room, and when you got there, there was a man just a couple rooms down also getting ready to get into his room.
He chuckled when he saw Masky, and he asked almost tauntingly.
“Didja just get back from a Halloween party?”
You grabbed onto Masky’s wrist when he went to approach the man, and you replied back, tugging Masky back and ignoring his glare.
“Nah, a costume party for my friend.”
You walked into the room, tugging Masky along, and you let the door slam shut. Sliding the lock, Masky grunted at you.
“You didn’t have to do that.”
“I saw you walking towards him, so yes I did.”
He simply huffed, and you threw your bag onto the bed and turned to him.
“Okay, so are you going to let Tim come back or do I have to deal with you?”
Masky stood, coming towards you, but you stood your ground. Masky glared down at you, and you crossed your arms.
“…I see why Host is so fond of you.”
His hand came up to brush against your skin, so gently as if he was afraid you would shatter beneath his fingertips. You were a very stubborn spirit, a spitfire, and Masky could see why the Host enjoyed that about you. Despite the fear that you were very obviously feeling, you still trucked through it with a strong spirit and an optimistic beat. It resonated deeply within the Host because the Host was very well the same way.
It was something that Masky could admire.
Your skin was soft, a nice feeling beneath his rough callused hands, and he tilted his head as he stared down at you. You were staring at him, obviously surprised but still standing stiff. You swallowed, your throat moving visibly, and Masky felt his body shiver from the sight. Of course, not his reaction, but it was enticing all the same. Letting his hand drop, Masky turned and took a seat in the chair that sat near the door.
“You should sleep.”
You observed him, Masky staring right back, and you pointed out.
“You never answered me on whether or not you were going to let Tim come back.”
Masky simply said.
“We will see.”
You threw your hands up in the air in frustration before snatching your bag and disappearing into the bathroom. Masky couldn’t help but smirk behind his mask. You were so easy to irritate that it was almost irresistible to annoy you. When you came out, you were in your pajamas, and you gave him a look.
“Don’t be irritating while I’m trying to sleep.”
He simply scoffed at you, and you climbed into bed, turning the lamp off and plunging the room into total darkness. However, Masky’s eyesight quickly adjusted, watching as you tried to find a comfortable position on the bed. After a moment, you stopped moving, and it didn’t take long for you to fall asleep. The softness of your breaths filled the room, and Masky stayed seated, watching you intently before he silently moved across the room.
Sitting on the floor against the wall beside the bed, he stared at your face, chin resting on the bed. Your breath filtered against the mask, the scent of your toothpaste making his nose tingle, and he sighed quietly. While Masky was willing to allow Tim to have the light, Masky wasn’t willing to give it while there was still a risk. The Operator was still on your trail, and Masky had to keep control in order to keep the Operator two steps behind instead of two steps ahead like it was in the past.
Masky’s phone vibrated, and he looked down to see a text from his partner.
‘FOUND.’
So, he was able to find Jessica, hm? Masky should have given his partner more credit. Masky replied back, glancing at you as you sighed deeply and buried your nose into the pillow.
‘Safe?’
‘FORNOW.’
Another text came in about five seconds afterward.
‘ARK?’
Masky looked at you again and huffed.
‘Hidden.’
And it would stay that way. Masky pocketed the phone, and he began to watch you again. You looked peaceful, but Masky could see the bags beneath your eyes. You were extremely exhausted, and he shook his head lightly. That’s exactly how it starts, doesn’t it? The loss of sleep…and the paranoia and irritation…the Operator had wrapped its tendrils around you tightly already, but Masky had some semblance of hope that you were much stronger than the Operator would expect.
After all, you were no Alex Kralie.
No, you were much smarter…much stronger than he was. Naïve, yes, but still strong. Perhaps that is what drew the Operator to you…you would be a great source to use to spread his disgusting disease; to feed off of until he grew tired of you.
Masky’s fingers brushed against your lips, and he tilted his head lightly. How delicate you felt beneath his fingers…how easily breakable you seemed. Masky knew better, but it didn’t curb his dark desire to break you. He was nowhere near a good entity. Quite the opposite, but now that he was independent from the Operator…Masky could do what he wanted whenever he pleased. Masky could only imagine how much fun it would be to break you.
Just because he had to keep you safe didn’t mean he couldn’t have a little fun with it, right?
Masky stood up, standing over you and brushing your hair from your face. A beautiful and breakable little ray of sunshine. Masky smirked lightly, tilting his head.
Sunshine.
That sounded nice.
Masky’s fingers twitched with the want to feel the skin of your throat against his hand once more, and he stepped back. He would not break you just yet…but perhaps, when the Operator was finally gone, he would have his fun.
Grabbing the car keys from the counter of the bathroom, Masky silently walked out of the hotel room and opened the trunk of the car. Grabbing the crowbar from within the trunk, he closed the trunk and walked towards the room where the man had been when you and Masky had arrived.
Knocking on the door, he waited until the door opened to swing. As he walked into the room, closing the door behind him, Masky smiled lightly behind his mask. Swinging, blood splattering against the walls, Masky was almost euphoric as he got rid of the unfortunate man, sinking the crowbar into the man’s chest and twisting it in circles.
Liabilities were liabilities, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t have his own twisted fun.
He was willing to wait for his sunshine.

When Jay had first crossed the screen in his first appearance, you had covered your mouth and tried not to cry. How hard it was to see such a sweet face that had once been full of life and curiosity that was now a simple memory left within the dust. Tim was stiff, tense as he watched the screen, and you held onto his hand tightly.
The more you watched on, the quieter and stiffer you got. Watching that…thing…stalking your friends and lover made your heart constrict, watching as Alex became stranger and stranger….more homicidal and angry….as the tapes went on. It made you wonder if you would have ever stood a chance against him.
Would he have spared you? Would Alex have remembered who he was, even just for a second, if you had been there to help? It made you angry that you hadn’t been there for him.
The more you watched, the more you began to shake with the guilt and anger and sadness.
You wished you had been there to help. You understood why Tim had left you in the dark, but it hurt. It hurt watching someone you had grown up with and idolized become a monster because of the influence the Operator had on him. And gods, seeing Brian’s face again…it made you wish that you could go back into time and take their places respectively.
When the unknown masked man came onto the screen, your whole body had tensed, your eyes wide. Tim glanced over at you, curious as to why you were reacting in such a way. You were certain that you had seen this man before, but where had you seen him? Where had you seen that feminine mask? Your head began to hurt, and you rubbed your eyes, the memory trying to come back but no matter how hard you tried, it just kept sticking to whatever was holding it back.
Tim couldn’t look at the screen. Every time he saw himself like that, it made him hate himself…hate whatever it was that he would become when those moments would come. Lighting up a cigarette, Tim rubbed his forehead as the clips played on. One after the other, more of the mystery unraveling before you, and when the part came up that revealed who the masked man was, you couldn’t move.
There was no way Tim was that masked man, right? Sure, the evidence was right there…but that wasn’t your Tim…that wasn’t the man you fell in love with…right? You grabbed his cigarette from his lips and took in a long, shaky drag before giving it back, and Tim couldn’t help but look so damn ashamed of himself. He had no memory of these moments, no memory of chasing and watching these people, yet it was still him. Not his conscious, but it was still his hands that had hurt these people you both called your friends.
Would he ever be forgiven for the sins his body committed? Tim didn’t really think so.
You were lost, if you were honest. These were people that you had known for years, all acting so incredibly different…all people that you weren’t sure that you really knew anymore. Even if Jay and Tim acted like themselves, you still didn’t know if you really recognized them.
Alex was the most shocking difference of them all. Even the look within his eye was different, that once confidence-filled, knowledge-driven gleam within his eyes replaced by the gleam of an angry and broken man.
He hadn’t deserved this. None of you had deserved this.
Nonstop, you had watched the videos, never resting or giving yourself a moment to breath. You knew that if you took even a simple break, you wouldn’t be able to keep watching the tapes. You knew you had to keep watching. Just like Tim said, you were beginning to understand the more you watched…understanding why things were happening the way that they were.
Why your friends had disappeared, why nothing really felt alright even though you lived as if they were, and why that thing was stalking you. You understood it all, even if it still confused you slightly.
When Jay last encountered Alex, and you watched as Alex shot him, you had jumped, covering your face slightly. Hearing Jay choking on his own blood, desperately trying to find air to breathe made your own lungs ache. How could Alex be so willing? How far gone was he really? You could feel Tim’s hand on your thigh, rubbing gently but hesitantly, and despite how scattered you were, you were grounded by his warm touch.
And then Entry 86 began.
Tim and you sat in silence, and you didn’t know what to say.
Especially as you watched him kill Alex.
Such brutal strokes of the instrument held within Tim’s hand sunk into Alex’s neck over and over, blood spilling from between Alex’s fingers as he tried desperately to stop the bleeding and stop Tim. However, Tim was a hurricane, a force that demanded respect as he displayed such brute strength against the very thing that had caused him so much agony and pain and suffering.
If there was a second, a moment, that you had ever felt true fear…it would have been in this very moment as you watched your lover take the life of another.
Granted, you understood why.
Alex was not the man that he used to be, no matter how much your heart told you to believe that there was some semblance of good within his heart and that his intentions really had been good….but this man that lied bleeding on the floor beneath Tim’s bloodied hands was not the man you knew growing up.
This was not the Alex Kralie you had once called your friend and brother.
Even then, it still hurt watching Alex choke on his own blood, desperately try to take in one last breath, as Tim stumbled away. It hurt to know that Alex had been the cause of so much anger and confusion; of so much suffering. It hurt to know that he had been the reason Jay had been killed, that Seth was still missing, that Brian had died…and why Tim was so traumatized now.
Despite it having been two years since the last entry uploaded onto the channel, and despite Tim having done countless therapy appointments, there were still times in the night where he would wake up screaming from the nightmares that plagued him, calling for Jay and crying so hard that it sent him into coughing fits and sometimes seizures if the stress was too much on him.
Those moments always pained you…seeing him so afraid, so pained…you often would silently cry as you held him and helped him back to sleep, wishing there was something that you could do.
But now that you understood what it was that plagued him at night, you doubted that there was anything that you could do for him.
The room was quiet as the last entry ended, and you both sat there in a stiff silence, afraid to speak. What could either of you say? That Tim was sorry for killing your best friend? That you were sorry that you couldn’t help him? What was there to say? You let go of Tim’s hand, sliding off the bed, and shakily, you grabbed one of his cigarettes, almost unable to light it up with how much you were shaking.
Tim’s mouth opened, his hand reaching for you, but no words escaped his parted lips as you disappeared into the bathroom. He knew you were probably extremely scattered at the moment, trying to piece your thoughts together as you mourned and tried to understand…but he was afraid that his worst fears would come true.
You were going to hate him for what he did and leave him, and there wasn’t much that he could do about it.
What could he say? ‘Hey, I’m sorry for murdering your best friend, but I promise it was for a good reason.’? Tim would rather shove his head into his ass without saying a word. For a while, it was quiet. The rumbling of the a/c was simply white noise, but through the shuddering, Tim could hear the soft sound of you crying in the bathroom.
God, he had really dreaded this moment.
What could he do? He didn’t want to go in there and disturb you, but Tim also didn’t want to be an ass and leave you alone. Biting his lip, Tim ran a hand through his hair roughly before deciding to try and approach you. The least he could do was try, right?
Walking to the bathroom, he knocked silently.
“Baby, I know there’s nothing that I can say to make you feel better…there’s nothing that I can do for you that will ever make up for what I did…but if….if one part of you still loves me even after knowing what I’ve done…I promise you that I’m going to be here for you…I’m going to start being more honest with you. No more lying…no more keeping you in the dark…just…just honesty and trust.”
Tim rest his head on the doorway, feeling his heart constricting and chest tightening with the urge to sob, and for a pregnant pause, there was silence. Before Tim could turn to leave, the door quietly clicked open, and your tear-tracked face greeted his tired, glassy eyes. You looked angry.
“Timothy Wright, if you think for one second that I would ever stop loving you, then you obviously haven’t been very observant for the past nine years that we’ve been together.”
Tim bit his lip, sniffling lightly, and you opened the door all the way, rubbing your arms afterwards.
“I’m….I’m not angry at you for killing Alex. It was obvious to me that if it wasn’t him then it would have been you…and call me selfish, but I would rather him than you. That man…that wasn’t the Alex that I knew. He was too far gone and I think the only way to have stopped this was to kill him.”
You paused, taking a shaky breath.
“I’m not mad at you, I’m mad that this is what it had to come down to. I won’t lie, though; I wish I hadn’t been kept in the dark about it all…though, maybe that was for the best as the whole thing progressed…”
You looked at Tim, affirming to him softly.
“None of this was your fault, Tim. I know you felt like it was, and you honestly believe that, but I know that it isn’t. Alex started to meddle with something he didn’t understand, and it cost him everything. It caused us to lose the things most precious to us, and that’s something that will never be your fault. Sure, you killed Alex, but…but I think it was for the best.”
Maybe you were selfish to have rather it be Tim who walked away from Benedict Hall that day instead of Alex, but to you, that man that had bled to death on the floor of Benedict Hall was not Alex but the shell of the man you had once known. Alex had been past saving…but Tim still had that chance for a normal life, and you were glad that fate had given it to him.
Would you have survived the news knowing the man you loved was killed by your own best friend? Probably not. You weren’t taking the news that Tim had killed Alex too well either, but this was your lover. This was the man you dedicated your life to for so many years, even when you felt like you didn’t deserve him in your vulnerable moments. So, in your selfish little brain and your selfish little heart, you were glad it was Tim who lived during that fight.
You would never, however, forgive the universe for taking Jay, Brian, and Seth away. Granted, you hadn’t known Jay and Seth very well, but they were still your friends. They were still people who had deserved a normal life but instead had gotten sucked into Alex’s mess unwillingly.
You knew Brian very well, and it pained you to know that he was one of the first people to have fallen into Alex’s fucked up web. Such a sweet and innocent man now a decaying corpse in the earth…it was fucked up, wasn’t it? This whole situation…fucked up.
Tim was trying so hard to keep himself together, but fuck; he was so astounded by you. How was it that you could still love him even though your friend’s blood was on his hands? How were you able to do that?
You looked up at him with those eyes of yours, and Tim could feel the dam break. Tears fell down his face like a river, his face reddening from his sobs, and Tim couldn’t help but bring you into his arms and hold you so close and tight to him.
“I’m so sorry…I’m so sorry, (Y/n).”
You were gentle with your touch, gently scratching his back as he finally let it all out. How long had it been since you had last seen Tim cry? Was it months? A year or two? You were unsure, but you knew that you didn’t like it. Tim was sobbing harshly into your shoulder, a few more sorry’s escaping his tobacco-laced lips, and it took all you had not to cry as well.
How cruel it was of you to forget that Tim was still broken by it all. How cruel it was of you to forget that Tim was still haunted by the memories of the events of Marble Hornets despite the countless hours of therapy he was doing. How cruel it was of you to forget that Tim, too, missed Jay and Brian. You whispered to him softly.
“There’s nothing to apologize for, Tim. I understand now…”
Tim only cried harder; held you tighter to his body. He did not deserve you. He did not deserve to hold you, to kiss and touch you, and to have your love and grace. Tim didn’t deserve a damn ounce of it, but he would be damned if he wouldn’t be selfish. Though, wasn’t he always selfish?
“I tried to save them…”
Tim cried softly.
“I tried to save them…but I was too late. I couldn’t save Jay, and I couldn’t…I couldn’t help Alex…and I couldn’t help Brian.”
For two years, he held that burden, that weight, within him, refusing to allow anybody else to carry that guilt but himself…and now that Tim was finally revealing it; all the pain that he was feeling…it felt…relieving.
“Alex was past saving, Tim…there was no hope for him, no matter how much I wish there was. Jay…Jay deserved much better than the fate he had been given…and Brian…he tried his best too. They all tried their best, some falling short than the other, but they all tried, Tim. You tried. All that matters now is that we keep trying to move on…we keep living and surviving.”
Tim whispered to you softly.
“But it’s because of me that the Operator is coming after you now, (Y/n).”
You shook your head, tensing slightly.
“No, Tim, it isn’t your fault at all. No matter what your head tells you, this was not your fault.”
It was more-so your own fault for heading back to Alex’s old house for sake of nostalgia and remembrance and finding those damned drawings (which you were sure was what alerted the Operator to your presence) but you weren’t sure if you could reveal that to Tim just yet. So, you opted more to comforting him…wondering if there would be a right time to tell your beloved of your stupid choice.
Tim slowly began to calm down, getting a hold of his breathing as he calmed, and you pulled back slightly to gently wipe his eyes and cheeks. He stared down at you as you worked his face dry, just observing you, and you gently kissed his lips. Tim could only weakly kiss back, still feeling the intense guilt weighing him down. You whispered to him, your lips still brushing against his own.
“I love you, Timothy Wright, and I swear to god, I’ll shove your head into your ass myself if you ever assume that I don’t love you ever again.”
Tim couldn’t help but laugh lightly, shaking his head.
“I don’t know how much farther you could get it up there.”
“If there’s a will, there’s a way.”
The two of you chuckled lightly, and Tim said after a quiet moment.
“I don’t deserve you. I don’t deserve any ounce of your forgiveness and love. How can you still hold me and kiss me despite knowing that I’ve killed someone?”
You were quiet before admitting.
“I would rather it be someone else’s blood on your hands than your blood on theirs.”
Tim swallowed thickly and he nodded slightly. You cupped his face with both hands, shaking him slightly.
“Stop worrying about it, Tim. Stop doubting yourself. What happened has happened. We can’t change that. Yes, it hurts…it hurts a lot…and I miss them every day…but we can’t focus on what was and what could have been. We have to think of ourselves and each other, especially if we are being hunted now. This isn’t just about the past anymore.”
Tim closed his eyes while taking a deep and calming breath and your thumb brushed against his lips. Tim opened his eyes to look down at you, his hands resting on your waist, and you sighed slightly. You whispered to him softly.
“Sometimes, I think I am the one who doesn’t deserve such a compassionate man like you. For nine years, you’ve given me more than what I can return to you…loved me more than any other man has…and saved me more than you realize. That heart within your chest was always so big and loving despite the trials you went through and are going through.”
You smiled lightly while tapping his chest right where his heart was, still keeping your other hand upon his damp cheek.
“You can ask yourself if you really deserve me all you want…you can try to convince yourself that I would be better off…but I think it’s me who never deserved a man like you.”
Tim felt his eyes fill with more tears, and he asked you, clutching your waist tighter.
“How can you say that? You were always the good one…you were always the one who brightened everyone’s day, who held them up high when they couldn’t do it themselves…who gave reasons on why we should keep going and living when it felt like there was none. You were the one who gave us hope, (Y/n). I did none of that.”
You were quiet for a moment before replying softly.
“You did it for me.”
God, if Tim didn’t lose his breath enough already, you surely took whatever breath was left. So easily, those words slipped from your lips, but fuck, they hit him like a freight train, his knees feeling so weak. God damn, he was so in love with you and it was why this whole situation continued to scare him and give him anxiety.
If he lost you, there was no point for anything else. There was nothing for Tim to live for if he lost you. Tim clenched his teeth as he tried to hold his sobs back, but your lips gracing his cheek only made him weak. Tim wrapped you up in his arms so tightly, sobbing into the crook of your neck.
“I love you so much. God, I’m so sorry, (Y/n). I’m sorry.”
You were quiet for a moment.
“I know, Tim. I know.”
-TIMESKIP-
After the two of you had calmed down, the both of you had headed off to bed, staying close to one another but staying comfortably silent. You both had said all the words that you had needed to, and it was only silence that spoke. Tim was asleep beside you, his head tucked into your chest, his arms holding you close to him, but you were sleepless, your mind replaying the tapes over and over within your head.
Lying on your back, your hand still running smoothly through Tim’s hair, your heart constricted. You hadn’t really cried nor mourned for your friends in a very long time, but your heart ached to cry, to let it all out…to finally find a way to heal. For a while, even you had gone to therapy to explain how you felt about the disappearance and deaths of your friends, but that relief that came with getting it off your chest never stayed long.
Now that you knew the truth, you knew that you could really begin to heal and work through the trauma…but you were afraid. Did you really deserve that? Sure, you hadn’t known anything during the time of Marble Hornets…but still, you felt guilty. They had all wanted normal and happy lives and because of your friend, they couldn’t have that. You wish you would have noticed when Alex started to change. Perhaps, if you had noticed, you could have helped. You could have saved him somehow…but would it have mattered? Would any of this have mattered if you had just been there to help him?
Your mind suddenly thought about the camera in the floorboard of Tim’s car, and you made a mental note to pick up some sort of charger for the camera once the two of you left the hotel. You needed to see what those extra 25 minutes were on that tape. What if it explained why you had been out in the woods? Rubbing your forehead, you sighed lightly. It made sense, this whole situation…but there was still some confusion within your chest.
If Tim was the masked man, then how often did he run off now? Was it practically never, or was there a moment here and there? You wondered if he still had the mask. You knew he had thrown it away, but what if he still had it. You frowned.
Was he the reason you didn’t really remember anything from the day the Operator had attacked you within your apartment? Was he the reason you had slept all day and then woke up with the wound on your head? Looking down at Tim, you watched as he slept peacefully, his hot breath fanning across your skin.
Surely, there was good reason for it, right?
You wished you could understand it much better. Rubbing your forehead again, your wiped at your eyes slightly before finally allowing yourself to relax. If there was anything more that you two needed to talk about, which you knew that there was, then you could focus on it tomorrow. For now, you would simply get some rest and try to forget about all the pain and suffering for a night.
-TIMESKIP-
When you awoke, the bedroom was still incredibly dark, making you wonder if you had only slept for a short while. However, you could tell that it was starting to brighten, and you guessed that it had to be somewhere in the early morning. The bed was incredibly warm, a hotness radiating from behind you as you lied on your side, turned away from Tim.
Tim was lying behind you, his breath warm against your skin as the two of you lied beneath the covers. His hand was on your hip, thumb rubbing gently against the skin peeking from between your panties and your tank top. You wondered when he had woken up, but paid no mind, deciding to try and get more sleep. When Tim’s hot breath filtered over your neck again, a shiver ran down your spine, and you readjusted, your hips brushing against his own for a second.
Tim was still for a moment, before you felt his head lean down slightly, his lips pressing against your skin lightly. Tingles ran down your spine from the feeling, and you hummed lightly from the feeling.
His lips were soft against the back of your neck, gently kissing while his hand gripped your hip, pulling your hips to be flush with his. His fresh stubble tickled your skin as he trailed his lips down to your shoulder, your body tensing from the feeling of his teeth nipping at your skin.
Tim’s hand came up from your hip, trailing along your skin up to your breast and firmly grasping, a shaky breath leaving your lips. Kneading for a moment, Tim’s thumb brushed against your hardening nipple, and you sighed when he gently pinched and tugged, his mouth sucking a dark mark into your neck.
His hips were grinding into yours, pressing his hard length into the curves of your ass, and his teeth sunk into the flesh of your neck again, this time harder. It had you gasping loudly, arching and pressing your ass into his erection even harder. Tim groaned lightly from the feeling, and his hand moved back down your body, slipping beneath the waistband of your panties and fingers brushing against your clit.
You let out a huff, jerking your hips a bit, and Tim pressed against you, rubbing his fingers in circles against your clit. Your leg came up to allow more access, swinging back onto Tim’s, and almost immediately, his finger sunk deep into your heat. You gave a small moan, and Tim slowly pumped in and out, his other hand wrapping around you to keep you flush against him.
“Tim…!”
You moaned softly. Tim hummed back in satisfaction, his teeth nipping at your neck. Slowly, he pressed another finger against your entrance, slowly stretching you, and you let out a shaky breath, gripping onto the skin of his arm as he began to pump into you once more, a bit rougher with his ministrations.
You were bucking slightly, your hips hitting into his own and making Tim grunt out. He thrust against your ass, repeatedly pressing his hardness into you, and just as he was about to pull your panties down, a knocking on the door sounded, making both of you freeze.
For a moment, you both were quiet, hoping the person at the front door would leave. However, when the knocking sounded again, a quiet call of your name coming through from your neighbor, Tim cursed loudly, pulling his fingers from your heat. You huffed at the emptiness, and Tim disappeared for the front door. You listened as Tim opened the door slightly, most likely hiding his erection from prying eyes.
“Hey.”
“Hi, sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if I could borrow a couple eggs? I don’t have anymore and I’m trying to make breakfast for my kids.”
Tim was quiet before you heard the front door close slightly, the sound of the fridge opening. You couldn’t help but chuckle softly at the situation, laying with your arm lying across your forehead on your back, still aching for Tim.
Tim came back and shook his head, and you grinned as his fist clenched with his frustration. Deciding to get up, you grabbed your clothes for the day and disappeared into the bathroom, leaving Tim to be blue-balled once again.
