2017-07-16 Sunflower - Coastline of Dishui Lake, Shanghai Dishui Lake is a man-made work. It's at the right corner of Shanghai. Basically, with the 38 celsius degree heat, there's few people over there. More importantly, it is still not convenient for people live there. Although, 15 years ago, the government of this city invested a large amount of money to build this area including the lake and the commercial facilities (luxurious hotels for example) around the lake, It's still not a popular place. The far side of this picture shows a construction site connecting the leading coastline. The buildings are growing but it is still in construction. The exquisite coastline shore and wild-open lake create unbalance. This contradictory fact points out a unbalance of development and a potential value of underestimate. Normally, in a modern city, the coastline area is the most popular place for holiday - the see view, the beach and the boats. But, it is not the case there. Strange. I love this word - underestimate because 15 years ago, the price per square of the property in my area is only 20 thousand CNY. Now, it is 60 thousand plus. So, if you think some place as an unpopular 'wasteland', you better open your box of imagination rationally. Maybe the culture decided and create the unbalances. Chinese people doesn't like beach.
