Movement of Time.
Hail and Hallowed Hunting friends and fellow witches. I spent last night in a horrible state of restlessness, something that has been my constant companion as of late. Perhaps in desperation or in need, I asked for a sign before I slept. Of what to do or what I should be doing. Something of the sort. I wasn't extremely specific. But I had a dream, a very strange dream. There was something earlier on in it that I wish I could remember and cannot. Something about magic that eludes me now, likely because I was woken up so harshly. However, as I lay in the haze of almost sleep, drifting there, not quite ready for waking, I dreamt or saw something. It was like a game, a twisting through time. In which, briefly, I entered another world from the one I drifted in. Time moved differently there. In strange ratios to the waking world. A day spent there accounted to perhaps a month here. A month accounting for years. And I would slip in and out of the place, caught between waking and dreaming. And each time I would slip out there would be someone waiting to speak to me, talking about the movement of time in this other place. And then I would adjust that movement. That is the best way I can describe it. Changing the difference in time between these two places. Each time I would adjust the time and descend to test the differences. Until eventually I configured them to match. To make it so that the time spent within this hazy place was the same movement of time in the waking world. More specifically I remember it being 24:24. Twenty-four hours for every twenty-four spent equally. Why I did this I have no idea. Except, perhaps, that I could divide my time evenly between these two places. And that is an answer of itself isn't it. That I must divide my time evenly between the waking world and this otherworld. How I can safely do that is something I still have to figure out. And also, the number 24 stuck with me so strongly. I know the number itself has a fair share of historical, spiritual, and biblical representations. It also, from what little I've been able to find, has connections to string theory, rebirth, and the cyclical movements of nature. The elements, the harmony of earth and sky. That last one rings something deep inside of me. There is something here in this dream I need to understand better. But those moments caught between waking and dreaming can often be difficult to decipher. The only time I am free of this restlessness is when I am moving, but even that isn't quite enough lately. It's driving me a bit mad, the feeling – the need – is so strong. It is a hunger that I cannot seem to sate. And I am not sure what to do. That is all for now, thank you for listening to my rambling. Hallowed Hunting, Ydra
