I don´t know what we would have done if we had internet, back then. Without it, we had only a vague idea of what our heroine looked like, and we didn´t really understand the lyrics, either - but we identified! It seems like the power of our imageless imagination enhanced this feeling, as we ecstatically danced to "Gloria", to "Horses", and to "Victory"- which was often played on political demonstrations, too. We all wanted to be just like her.
