Talking about time speed run any %
Firstly, there are 352 days in a year, three months and six days. The months are based on the three kingdoms/main magic types/the guardians. Because I’m such a creative person but also because of the fact the guardians wanted periods of time where one of the three main elements could be celebrated, each month bringing unique things to the Isles.
The first month of the year, month of the Land is the perfect month to grow a variety of crops, the flora and fauna thrive really well in this season. Days are generally longer than it is in any of the months and nights are typically shorter. Days are warm and sunny more often than they are cold and rainy. It’s pretty much just summer. The month of the land is 119 days long.
The next month, month of the sky is like autumn (fall it thats what you call it) this month is a little colder and windier (a given since it’s the month of the sky) days are kinda split 50/50 in terms of the hours though some days can be shorter/longer than others. The month is a little bit of a mess. The month of the sky is seen as a transition period, going from warmer, sunnier days to windier, colder days. There’s a fine selection of things that grow well in the conditions of the month. This month is 117 days long.
The last month is basically winter, days are shorter and nights are longer, it’s cold, rainy and windy. Storms are most likely to happen in this month than any other. There are a few things that will only grow in this month including a vast selection of colourful flowers. This month is also the shortest, having 116 days in it.
A day in the Isles has 20 hours. What hours are day/night depend on the month. For the month of the land, day is between hours 4-16 so it’s an 11 hour day, which doesn’t seem like a lot but when compared to the other months, it is. (Also I am counting hours 4 & 16 when counting the hours in the day)
The month of the sky has days between hours 5-14, which is a 10 hour day.
And the month of the Sea has incredibly short days, usually going from hours 6-12 which is only 7 hours. It’s not uncommon that people stay up for a few hours during the night during this month due to the short days.
The Isles have six days named after each of the guardians. They are named from the start (end in the case of one of them) of the guardians name plus “ous” added to the end. It’s easier to show so just have a list of the days.
Nixous (Nix-ous [has the end part of phoenix])
Also for those wondering how years work, it starts at 0 and counts up from there. The year the Isles is set in is year 3502
Thats basically the basics of how time and things work in the Isles, I’ve got screenshots of the calendar I’ve made that you can use, includes characters birthdays and the Isles version of new years & Christmas
