لما ذكر تعالى سؤال الخلق عن معبودهم وعن رسلهم، ذكر الطريق الذي ينجو به العبد من عقاب اللّه تعالى، وأنه لا نجاة إلا لمن اتصف بالتوبة من الشرك والمعاصي، وآمن باللّه فعبده، وآمن برسله فصدقهم، وعمل صالحا متبعا فيه للرسل، { فَعَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ } من جمع هذه الخصال { مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِينَ } الناجحين بالمطلوب، الناجين من المرهوب، فلا سبيل إلى الفلاح بدون هذه الأمور.

Christianity is not about taking the moral high ground, and thanking God that we aren’t horrible sinners like the rest of the world.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

Becoming a follower of Christ means becoming more aware of our failures, and of how we fall short of God’s holy standard. It’s a life of acknowledging that we can’t get to heaven on our own, and giving our lives to the only one who can make us righteous before God.

It’s when we do this that, while we don’t become lights of the world, we are able to point to the one who is.

His light fills us to the brim, to the point where we run over. This is how Jesus continues to shine his light in this dark world, through his children.

We are not the light, but are called to be witnesses of the light. We are called to carry out the deeds of our Father in the light, because he is the light. What is done in the light, cannot be done in darkness.

This means that we must live holy, as he is holy. We must let his light shine in this world, because it desperately needs to hear his message. This world of darkness must be lit up with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

The Christian life is a life of imitating Christ the Lord. His love that he has shown us both on the cross, and in how he lived his life, demands a life long response. It’s through our humbleness before him that we become the lanterns of the Holy Spirit to shine in this world of darkness and decay.

The Christian life is not a life of perfection or self righteousness, but a life of constant repentance and humility before the Lord. It’s acknowledging the futility of trying to be righteous in our own, and letting his righteousness flow through us.

We can’t let the light shine if we dim it with the mask of our self righteousness. God is trying to call those around us to himself, not to his to servants.

It’s through Christ we are saved, not ourselves or our works.

Let’s start acting like it.

Truly I tell you, this is the most important thing:

This life is short, it can end at any moment. Jesus Christ is real, He is the Son of the One True God, Creator of the Universe, and will forgive those who repent honestly and ask Him into their heart to be their personal savior.

God the Father sent His only Son to die for us and pay the price of sin- death- so we might be saved. Those who's names denied Him and did not follow Him will not have their names written in the Book of Life, and will be sent to outer darkness, to the Lake of Fire, where there will be weeping, and gnashing of teeth, and eternal separation from God.

Do not play with your eternity.

The cares of the world and this life will pass away, do not forsake your eternity. Accept Jesus Christ today.

DEATH IS NO LONGER THE END

INSPIRATIONAL REFLECTION

Death often feels like the end of everything. When the person we love leaves forever, our hearts are filled with deep sorrow and an emptiness that is hard to describe. Memories keep surfacing, longing suddenly arises, and there are questions that are not always answered. But Jesus' death should change the way we view death. Through His resurrection, Christ has defeated death, so that for those who are in Him, death is no longer the end, but a doorway to eternal life.

This doesn't mean we shouldn't grieve. When we lose someone we love, it's natural for our hearts to weep. Because God Himself understands human tears. Yet His word reminds us that this sorrow will not last forever (Psalm 30:5). There is a season when tears fill our days, and there will come a time when joy slowly returns to touch our hearts. The memories of our loved ones will remain alive in our hearts. We may no longer see or speak with them, but the love that was once engraved is never truly lost or dies just because of death. That love transcends time, space, and death itself. When others might say, "Shouldn't we have forgotten by now?" Overcoming grief does not mean forgetting. Overcoming grief means learning to continue living while still holding that love and those memories in your heart. Like dawn that slowly appears after a long night, light eventually drives out the darkness and brings a new day. That is how God restores our hearts. After passing through a season of grief, He grows new hope. Joy slowly returns, and we are reminded that because Christ is risen, death is not the end of the story. So if today we are going through a season of loss, wait for God to grow new hope in the midst of our loss. [RS]

SELF-REFLECTION

How have you viewed death and loss so far? Do you still see it as the end of everything, or as part of the hope found in Christ?

Do you still carry sorrow from losing a loved one? Based on the truth of God's word, what should our attitude be regarding this?

Always remind ourselves that in Christ, death is not the end, but the beginning of eternal hope.

PRAYER TOPIC

Jesus, I am grateful that through Your resurrection, death is no longer the end of life. Thank you for allowing me to love those who are no longer here. Strengthen my heart as I go through this season of grief, with the hope that You will grow new life in the midst of my loss. In Jesus' name. Amen.
