When we do something good, we shouldn’t expect immediate praise. Instead, we should give honor to God, because He is the one who enables us to do it. I’ve noticed that when people receive rewards or recognition, they often don’t acknowledge God but the moment they are in need, they quickly call on Him. This is why we must be mindful of our words and our hearts.
Whenever someone thanks me or appreciates what I do, I make it a point to respond right away: I give honor to God. I don’t hold onto the praise or take credit for myself, because I know I can do nothing without Him. I’ve come to understand that my life has no true meaning or direction without God in it. Because of this, I strive to let Him lead my life and to make sure He is glorified in everything I do.
Once we truly adopt the mindset that God is the source of all we have and all we accomplish, we will stop seeking attention for ourselves and instead point everything back to Him. Scripture reminds us to let our good deeds shine so that others will praise our Heavenly Father not us.
We must be careful not to take credit for what belongs to God. The recognition, the compliments, the accomplishments none of it is truly ours. It all belongs to Him. When we give Him the glory, we align ourselves with His will, and He continues to guide us, strengthen us, and carry us through every situation.
Some people hold onto praise and make it about themselves, but that is not the way. Everything we do should reflect God’s goodness, not our own. The glory is His and His alone.
Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
We must let our good deeds shine and allow God to receive the glory. One of the simplest ways to do this is when someone gives us a compliment we can respond by saying, I give God the honor or I give God the glory. In doing so, we acknowledge that everything we accomplish is because of Him.
I’ve come to understand that without God, I can do nothing. It’s impossible for me to truly succeed on my own. When I give God the praise and glory, it shows that I recognize Him as the source of everything in my life.
Many of us struggle with this because we allow compliments to inflate our pride. We let recognition go to our heads instead of redirecting it back to God. But we must be careful not to take credit for what belongs to Him. Every good thing we do should point back to God, giving Him the glory He deserves.
1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
In everything we do, we must give God the glory. Scripture reminds us of this again and again because it is important. Many people fail to give Him glory because they are too focused on seeking attention from others. But the attention of others cannot sustain or guide our lives only God can.
When we give God glory, it should be in all things, not just in certain moments. We shouldn’t let anything stand in the way of honoring Him. When we take the credit for ourselves, it becomes an act of selfishness choosing our way over God’s way. His Word calls us to give Him the glory in all that we do.
There are times in my own life when I receive compliments, and it would be easy to simply accept them. But instead, I make it a point to immediately give God the glory. I do this because I want Him to be recognized for what He has done in my life.
In truth, it is much easier and more meaningful to give God the glory than to take it for ourselves. When we claim the glory, we miss the opportunity to praise Him. But when we give it back to Him, we stay aligned with His will and acknowledge Him as the source of every good thing in our lives.
1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
We were bought at a price and that price was Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. Through His sacrifice, He gave us eternal life. Yet many of us fail to fully recognize the weight of what He has done. His death was not a small thing; it was a great and costly sacrifice. Still, He does not hold it over us He simply wants us to understand that our eternal life is made possible because of Him.
Because of this, we are called to give God glory, even in our bodies. This means living the way we are meant to live pursuing righteousness, purity, and holiness. It means not living carelessly, but intentionally choosing a life that reflects Him. When we live upright and turn away from sin, we honor God with our lives.
Walking the righteous path is not as difficult when we walk it with God. Through His strength, we are able to live in a way that brings Him glory. Our lives are not meant to be lived only for ourselves, but as vessels that reflect His goodness and purpose.
When we begin to understand that our lives belong to Him, we become more mindful of how we live. In that awareness, we grow closer to Him and begin to walk in deeper unity with Christ.
Galatians 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
When we become overly focused on accepting the approval and compliments of people, it can slowly shift our attention away from God. Human praise can feel good in the moment, but it should never become what we depend on or seek above all else. God calls us to a higher standard one where His approval matters most.
It is easy to get caught up in the encouragement and recognition of others, but we must be careful not to let that become our motivation. Scripture teaches that if we are trying to please people above God, we are not truly serving Him. Our first desire should always be to honor God and live in a way that pleases Him.
Instead of living for the approval of others, we should choose to live as servants of God, seeking His direction and His approval in all things. Human praise will fade, but God’s approval lasts. When we keep that perspective, we are better able to stay grounded, humble, and focused on what truly matters.
*** Today we talked about glorifying God. Many of us struggle to do this because we are drawn to the praise and approval of others. However, the Word of God reminds us that when we seek the approval of people above God, we are not truly serving Christ.
Often, we find ourselves trying to live in a way that pleases people, seeking their recognition and acceptance. But God calls us to something higher to seek His approval and to give Him glory in everything we do.
Scripture teaches us that we must glorify God not only with our words but also with our bodies and our lives. This means choosing to live in obedience to Him and turning away from anything that leads us into sin or distracts us from His will. It is about rejecting the ways of the world and instead walking in righteousness.
When we live in purity and follow God’s direction, we are walking in His light. And in doing so, we honor Him with our lives and reflect His goodness to the world around us.
Heavenly Father we thank you for today we ask you to be with us and to show us what we need to do in your will. Lord give us strength to make it through the day. Lord we ask you to continue to keeping a hedge of protection around us . We ask you to walk with us today as we go to work or during our traveling we thank you a bless you holy name in Jesus Name Amen
