time won't fly director's commentary:
While I did always know Duke would be the first character to find out Veronica was pregnant, the scene I envisioned was completely different to how it ended up playing out. In the original idea, Duke would come across Veronica throwing up in the school bathroom and ask what's wrong with her and Veronica would answer "if you must know, I'm pregnant". Which, while I'm sad I didn't get that line, I think the way it turned out fits both characters and the plot better.
A big part of the inspo for this fic, mainly the way I'm writing Veronica, is actually Solitaire by Alice Oseman, because their potrayal of a depressed character in Tori is just *chef's kiss*. I tend to go back to it when I'm struggling.
The goal word count for each chapter is between 3000-3500 but I've probably already gone over that.
One of my main goals in this, which I've touched on in my nbr directors commentary, is to develop martha and heather's relationship more and I'm excited to get into that
I know exactly what I want the last scene to be. You know, when we get there in the year of our Lord 2045 /hj
it was always very important to me that ronnie consider getting an abortion but back out at the last minute and the reason being she's worried she will regret it. that was always going to be a thing.
I do think the most recent chapter is kind of a jumping off point now, so hopefully we actually start the process of Veronica trying to move forward and on *looks at Heather Duke
I did, very briefly, consider making the doctor who tells Veronica she's pregnant Claire, but I discarded that very quickly. I don't see Claire as a doctor and it did feel like it would be cheap emotion grabbing. I'm not opposed to her having a cameo as a treat for the nbr readers, but not in that way.
