‘Apple’

My first try with creating an animation on photoshop, I am very happy with the outcome of this, I kept it in black and white because it makes me think of the old cartoons form the 80′s. The quality of the video is not so great because I had some difficulties saving the animation from photoshop to my laptop so this is a video I took from my phone of the screen. My animation included an apple getting eaten step by step, even the leaf.

“non-walk”

I tried another stop frame animation where I tried to make my model walk standing still, but that the video still looks like he is walking, I also wanted to keep the graffiti in the background for a more arty effect.The video is on its side because I wanted it to be a bit different than any other normal video, like he is walking up into space. I am not sure if I am happy with this outcome, but I decided to post it to show that I have tried this experiment and that I have learned from it.

Transforming Space: Twister!

Last Thursday, students from Heidi Kumao's Studio 4D class transformed the entryway of the Walgreen Drama Center into a game of Twister, inviting others to join in.  While the duration of their Live Art piece only lasted about 10 minutes, the colored dots remained in use all day by other UM students ...until the maintenance staff "cleaned up" at the end of the day.

Here's the assignment: Forming groups of four, students were asked to transform a space and the audience's perception of that space through the use of their bodies, props, actions, interactions with the audience, all while paying close attention to the visual impact of their presence.
