“And remember to be careful with it. You can seriously hurt someone with it.”
Rising from her rolling chair, Marisol smooths out her lab coat and picks up the clipboard resting upon her desk. She flashes her guest a smile as she turns toward her. ❝ Good morning, Miss Oxton, ❞ she greets, waving for the young woman to follow as she approaches a large monitor hanging from the wall. ❝ I have the results of your latest brain scan. ❞
Since Tracer’s start in the Slipstream program ( and particularly after her mishap ) Marisol has worked as her neurologist, taking regular scans of her brain and being sure everything is as normal as it can be. She has found Oxton to be one of the most interesting subjects she’s ever studied, if not the most interesting -- though Morrison and Reyes are certainly in the running.
❝ Everything looks pretty normal -- for you, anyway, ❞ she says, and while the words hold no malice, her tone is almost teasing. Regardless, she continues, manicured nails tapping away at the monitor, bringing up images of a brain, scanned at various angles, some sections highlighted. ❝ How have you been feeling, Miss Oxton? ❞

He was certain that he would’ve remembered having lunch with someone like her – but the way he had gone through the recent daily battles ( rocket launchers and bombs – shovels and bats – axes and knives ), he wouldn’t be surprised that perhaps ( just maybe ) one or two memories were lost. Taking off his hat and placing it on the table between them, he curiously glanced at her. It was an unusual question, yes, but it wasn’t quite as unusual as a memory of a lunch he never had with her. But who was he to be suspicious? He fought over gravel and sometimes was paid in hats. If he forgot about her, then her forgetting the date didn’t seem so off after all. ❝ 1972. Hey, you sure that we hanged out before? Are you a new employee? What section do you work at? ❞

THAT SCOWL she has heard fellow Talon agents SWORE was permanently locked ‘pon CORPSE COLORED FLESH was displayed. EVERYTHING about the Overwatch agent was vexing. Her energy, her voice it all CONSTANTLY GRATED her nerves. ❝ I could have figured that out for MYSELF, ❞ she replied curtly, promptly returning her gaze to some IRRELEVANT bit of space void of her.
Oh, there it is. The interest. He’s got something here, and he knows it. It amuses him. The answers to her questions are at the tip of his tongue ( after all, demons cannot outright lie ). He won’t let it pass, nothing in this world will ever come without it’s price. “I could answer all of those questions for you, of course.” Ah, here’s the but. “However, nothing in this life or the next is free. Pay to play.”
