The way that phrase echoes years apart scratches something in my brain and is so so satisfying :3

Talk about perfect timing 🤣
This is an interesting part because of the timeline. She say the “older ones” which mean this is before Kyo’s visit to Akito (flashback to the true form arc where Akito took his bracelet).
/post/190412922874/sebastians-backstory-analysis you should write 'september 2029' because it was season 1 that started in 2028 (2 year jump after TO S5 which was set in 2026) not season 2.
Legacies season 1 takes place during the spring semester, February-April 2028, so season 2 would still be 2028. 2x01 opens up with the title card ‘JUNE’ so there’s only about two months between the 1st and 2nd season.
Timeline Things: Ben’s Death and Leaving Home.
I just wanted to make a comment about literally three words in 1x02 and look what happened. Maths and headcanons. So think of this as a fic resource post, idk.
Let me remind you of our timeline:
(originally via Aidan Gallagher’s IG story)
In addition to the events here, we know that Vanya wrote her book five years prior to the events in the show (2014). At this point, Luther is still at the Academy, Diego is living in Al’s boxing ring, Allison is in LA, and Klaus (with Ben) is in rehab. But can we fill in the other gaps in the timeline? When did each sibling leave home? And does it help answer the obvious mystery: when did Ben die? They don’t want to tell us, but I bet we could take an educated guess.
We don’t really have much indication as to the order in which the siblings left. We know that Five disappeared first, and Luther was the last when he was sent to the moon. In between these two dates (2002-2015), Ben died, and the others flew the coop.
But we can narrow that down. In 1x02 Run Boy Run, we get an indication of the last time all the siblings were living together in the Academy:
Allison: It’s just, it’s been a while since we’ve all lived under the same roof. Pogo: Almost thirteen years.
Math time. Rounding up, because “almost” implies there’s only a few months shy of 13 years, the day in question (taking the current date as 25 March 2019, one day after Five returns) would be 25 March 2006.
However, is this when Ben dies, or when the first sibling leaves? It largely depends on whether you take Pogo’s “almost thirteen years” to include Ben being alive, or just the remaining five siblings. Allison will later say of Grace, “We left her alone for thirteen years!” but I think she’s using Pogo’s words hyperbole. I say this based on her empathy in the moment, and how unlikely it is that all the siblings left by March 2006, considering their age at the time.
In March 2006, they’d all be 16. Would any of them leave at this age? I could be persuaded that Klaus or Diego leave then, or later that same year at age 17 (October 2006). Klaus might run away, not caring where he was going, and Diego might try to ‘make it on his own’. I could see him being taken in by Al, being given the boiler room to camp out in and just never leaving.
But realistically, I’m more inclined to think that Ben died at this age, and that the siblings all left in the years after they turn 18 (October 2007).
So perhaps early 2006 is when Ben died, aged 16.
As for the second question, the order in which the siblings leave is merely conjecture based on Luther’s flashback at the beginning of 1x04 Man on the Moon.
He’s resting in his room one day in 2012 (”Seven Years Ago”), and suddenly thinks to check on Allison, a confused frown on his face. Maybe he thinks it’s too quiet, maybe he thinks “I haven’t seen her today.” Whatever the reason, he goes looking for her. He peers into her room, and the bed is stripped clean, room dark. Same in Klaus’s. There’s the sense of dawning realisation. He doesn’t check Diego’s, and we can see Vanya’s room has already been assimilated into Klaus’s (a sign she’s perhaps been gone a while). This, along with the way he glances left, then right, at the breakfast table makes me think thar Allison and Klaus left together.
Headcanon time. I already headcanon that Allison and Klaus were close. But now I headcanon leaving home at night, road trips to LA, and falling out on the way because of Klaus’s drug habit.
Based on this alone, I’d wager that Diego left first, maybe in 2006/2007, but most likely at the age of 18 in late 2007. He was followed by Vanya at some point, and followed by Klaus and Allison in 2012. Vanya writes her book in 2014, and a year later Luther leaves for the moon.
How did bronze civilisation develop? In the early ages of troll-kind, bronze bloods were living far apart from each other, rarely keeping any contact to each other and relying on others was seen as something to be ashamed about. This changed only very slowly, due to trolls in relationships noticing that it is indeed easier to live if someone is filling in the gaps a troll can't fill in themselves. Very, very slowly, with the understanding of relationships and the usefulness of teamwork, villages formed and grew. It was only this slow, because changing the mind of a Bronze blood is often harder than carving a rock out of the middle of a mountain. Today's cities, towns and villages are often compared to a clockwork. Each troll had their place in a large system and each piece is important, but easily replaceable. (Please do not reblog or use)
On the timeline of Class
Reportedly, exactly one week passes between the events of “For Tonight We Might Die” and “The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo”, but we don’t know much about when “Nightvisiting” happens. All we have confirmed is that roughly a month has passed since the first ep by the time the events of “Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart” & “Brave-ish Heart” take place. We also know that the novel “Joyride” takes place between eps 2 and 3 and the novel “What She Does Next Will Astound You” takes place between 3 and 4, as the novel “The Stone House” takes place between 5 and 6.
Or rather, it should. It’s the only thing that makes sense narratively, but I just can’t figure out how that’s supposed to happen when Dorothea’s words at the end of “Brave-ish Heart” indicate that “Detention” / “The Metaphysical Engine” take place on the following Monday already?? Anyway, six more days and we have “The Lost”, and with it not one but THREE huge cliffhangers, so really, who the hell cares???? GIVE US MORE!!!!!!
Social structure in the Bronze caste.
Bronze structure is all based around the work they do. The more dangerous a trolls work is, the more respected they are. Of course, there is also the aspect, of a lusus. If a trolls lusus is big and tame enough to use as an work animal, they gain even more respect. Bronze bloods are basically split in three groups: grubs, workers and elders. Grubs and wigglers, that are too small to work properly, are mostly ignored and have to get by on their own. They are often told to learn how to control their lusus as early as possible, so they can work on the fields early. The wigglers that don't have a "properly" lusus, are send into the mines to become roughbacks. Next in line, come the workers. It doesn't matter what a trolls work is, it is just important that it helps the village. Work that creates every day things, like carpentry or blacksmiths are seen as some of the best Work, a troll could have. Work on the field is also seen as something very important, but not as "prestigious" since almost all trolls do work there. Last are the elders. Those trolls, who are too old to work. They are often seen as outcasts, and dead weight, by the village. Which is why many of them move into empty hives, in the outskirts of the village. Elders often help each other, due to the friendships, they developed during their working time. @purplepimpryda
