on ages/timelines (IGYTS)
facts:
Noah and Jude’s birthday turn 14 somewhere between the end of summer and winter break (p239, 265, 291)
at the beginning of Noah’s point of view, they are at the start(ish) of seventh grade and 13 years old (p1, 13)
noah’s POV - the summer after 7th grade, they are 13 and ½ (p56)
at the beginning of Jude’s point of view, they are 16 years old in sophomore year/tenth grade, sometime (shortly?) before winter break (p24, 25, 37)
so Noah and Jude’s birthday is between the end of summer and the beginning of winter break. this means:
7th grade - 12 turning 13 8 - 13 turning 14 9 - 14 turning 15 10 - 15 turning 16
(pretty much the same for most people in school, but for reference ^^)
Oscar:
in the summer after 7th grade for noah and jude, he is younger than 18 (p?)
when he meets jude, it is sometime before winter break in her 10th grade year (p24, 25, 37)
so, if Oscar was 17 that summer (I think that’s safe to assume, as he passed for 18 and usually the models were in college according to Noah (p63)), he is at least 19, maybe (probably not) 20. It was also mentioned somewhere that he was taking college classes (p?) so 19 seems about right.
