Back to the Start
For two days Rose had noticed the strange man following her. At first it was something she chalked up to coincidence. She did work in a shop, so seeing him at her place of work and then at the chippy around the corner when she was on her lunch break wasn’t that big of a stretch. However, that evening when she got off work he was waiting at the bus stop, he even got off at her stop. She caught him staring at her several times, it wasn’t the normal staring - if ever there was normal staring - that you did when you were admiring the looks of someone. This was staring with an almost longing - staring that seemed to reach her very soul.
It was on the third day while on lunch, sitting at the fountain that she finally had enough. The piercing green eyes had kept her awake all night, tossing and turning. Funny enough she didn’t worry about her safety, she was more worried about the bloke who was following her. Maybe she reminded him of someone he once knew? Whatever the scenario Rose knew that she had to make it stop.
Ross tossed the greasy newspaper that had been holding her chips in the bin and walked over to the bow tie wearing man. “Oi, listen mate, I’m not who you think I am so you can stop following me.” She said, her hands on her hips. “I don’t know who you are, never seen you before in my life, so you can just bugger off.”
