3. back kiss

Angel usually got home from practice late, but today she was fairly early. She knew Hunter would be either meditating or training. Without the sound of the slap of a punching bag, she assumed he was meditating. It had only been a few weeks since they moved in together, but Angel already felt comfortable in his apartment. 

She crept up behind him and kneeled down quietly, gently pressing a kiss to his back, right between the shoulder blades.

All Angel could look at was his eyes. Hunter’s blue eyes, with the dark ring around his pupil and the streaks of green towards the outside.

She knew that he didn’t mean to do it. Erasers had come for her, and he grabbed the first thing he could use as a weapon: a kitchen knife. What neither of them saw coming was one of the Erasers grabbing her and using her as a shield right as Hunter swung. He’d fought them all off before he saw her lying on the floor, the red puddle around her.
