Northern Ballet performs F Scott Fitzgerald's, The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald is one of my all time favourite novels, so its safe to say that i was more than excited when I saw that it was coming to theatres near me. Id never seen a ballet in theatres before so I was slightly sceptical about the performance but i absolutely loved it! I found the elegance of the piece quite therapeutic and definitely uplifting. The costumes by David Nixon were absolutely stunning to say the least. As expected there wasn't a great deal to the scenery or props with it being a dance piece but I felt the lighting design (by Tim Mitchell) was really impressive and worked really well against each scene. Job well done!
