One of the best times with Shot Kosugi, he was making a series of shorts to place in front of martial arts films called “Action Ninja Theater” he got together with me Tim Van Pattan and the two Alans and we worked out all day long with weapons. The Alans are brothers from my Kendo class in Osaka and one of the greatest gifts I had in returning to Kendo in the US for a few years was I got to work with a sensei that was from the Kendo class in Osaka two years after I left, so I got to see a picture of the brothers once again. It’s funny you get old, your injuries act up and you still want to pretend you are a teenager and go back to this kind of practice, I really miss my real martial arts classes, it isn’t easy remembering and teaching myself with no students or senseis these were really wonderful times. Often lately I remember something Sho once said to me "Chris when you first came to Japan you couldn't throw a punch or draw a sword, today you are better than most 5 year martial artists and you did it in one summer, which means that you can always take a little time and practice and return to your best skills, and that is one of your greatest strengths." #christopherstewart #jonathanbrandis #alexhydewhite #shanebriant #timvanpattan #actionninjatheater #ninja #martialarts #ninjashorts #ninjafilms #ninjamovies #martialartsfilms #martialartsmovies #ninjitsu #osakacastle #osakakendo #kendo #shokosugi https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu5_yvwgmG3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=w3o7m09mpw0c
