TinEye: Reverse Image Search
Q: Coi, you went on a rant about asking artists for permission to use their art. But what if I stumble on art that's uncredited and I don't know who the original artist is?
A: Great question, person I've constructed for a hypothetical. I'd love to introduce you to this wonderful site called TinEye.
You can upload any photo and TinEye will scour the internet to find it. Then, it will give a list of URLs where said image is posted.
I was sent this pic of Sam Heughan in DM. Someone on Twitter posted it. Wondered if it maybe had been posted to the private MPC group. But NOPE. It's a Photoshop and fake. And here's proof.
So, this was Tweeted out. 👇
I did a reverse image search using TinEye. It's a site that searches pics all over the Internet to see if and where it's been posted before. And look at the results. 👇
14 results! And none of them are of Sam. They are all this other guy, and the pic has been used on scammer websites. Sam's head has been photoshopped onto the body. 👇
Side by side proving the pic is fake and Sam's head was photoshopped onto the other guy's body. 👇
Now, what I don't know is if the person Tweeting it out did the photoshopping OR she simply saw the pic somewhere and shared it. But someone should give her a heads up that it's fake.
Our boy Spook and his progression through the books.
ID by @elseweaver 💕 [ID: 3 digital drawings of Spook from Mistborn. In the first drawing, he's a child with a bowl cut. He has a nervous expression on the face, and messes with his hands.
The second drawing shows Spook as an older teenager, no longer with a bowl cut. He now wears an open sleeveless vest over his shirt, and carries a bag on his back. He looks ahead with a neutral expression.
The third drawing shows Spook as a young man. Along with his vest and shirt he now has a belt of rope with several vials hanging from the sides. He has on a blindfold and gloves, and rests his dueling cane on his shoulder. The area behind him is orange like fire.]
Spook time 😎
music producers are like tineyes
when you get into the process of making music, you watch tutorials, you watch professionals point small details out and slowly but very surely you begin to notice very minute and difficult to catch details in terms of sounds.
you being to feel the small hints of musical notes in kicks and snares, you feel the TEXTURE of the entire drumscape, you notice the small pieces of ear candy left by producers in their songs
you being to notice reverb and the dryness of sounds and so much more
but you simply become more receptive to sounds in general
like a newly snapped tineye, you begin to hear the smallest of sounds
its been 2 years ive been making music and sometimes i go through the process of:
im quiet => can hear the room fan screaming
turns off fan => can hear the bathroom exhaust fan
turns off bathroom exhaust => can hear sounds from around the house
closes door => can hear people talking in the neighboring fucking house [my windows are closed and the walls aren't even connected]
and like a newly snapped tineye, i feel like becoming a savant really isnt that difficult. you notice too much. i have a lot to occupy my mind but otherwise really i might've gone insane
and so i feel in music production, in life and in the process of not going insane, spook's advice was bang on:
what's important is what we can choose to ignore
