don’t meet up with strangers from the internet... unless they’re raver strangers ;)

here are just a handful of you that i was lucky enough to meet under the electric sky ♡

i always think about how funny it is that we grow up being told to never meet up with a stranger from the internet; and then all we do as ravers is exactly that. ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯

every single person in this photo collage is someone that i met online. whether it be through youtube, twitter, instagram, or some other platform, i never knew a single one of these people until we met for the first time at an event! this is one of the main reasons i love the edm community.

take a couple of these amazing people as examples. erick, the guy in the top middle picture, was someone i met just before slander’s set at circuit grounds. i noticed he was decked out in head-to-toe gud vibrations gear, so i went up to say hi and trade kandi. after introducing ourselves, we realized that we had been following each other on twitter and interacting for months! it was such a great moment, especially as two huge slander fam members 🙏.

another example is anjelica, in the bottom left corner picture. we met through youtube as she also posted an electric zoo vlog. when i stumbled across her video on my recommended page, i realized that we were basically standing right next to each other during wooli’s set and didn’t even know it! i reached out to her and we soon realized just how alike we were: same favorite artists, same personality, even the same birthday. (we still can’t get over that last part.) when we both decided to full send EDC we reached out to each other again to try and link up. come sunday night, our rave fams united as one and we got to experience seven lions on the rail together.

it just amazes me that we as ravers feel such a deep connection for people we would have never met without this genre of music. every single time i met a new person over the weekend, whether it was because they recognized me or just because we happened to vibe together in the crowd, i absolutely adored getting to talk with them whether it was for 5 minutes or 5 hours. i’ve formed new friendships with people from all over the country, and re-linking up with them at later events is the BEST feeling in the world.

i wanted to make this post to express how lucky i feel to have gained this huge family. festivals will always feel like home to me and i can’t imagine what my life would be like without these kinds of interactions; they’ve truly had a huge impact on me for the better, forever.

EDCO VLOG IS NOW LIVE!

i really don’t think i’ll ever be able to describe this experience properly, but please read through to understand even a fraction of my gratitude.

this past weekend, i experienced my very first edc. i went in with the mindset that i was going to leave any and all stress back in new york. i switched off my work emails for 4 days, and put my phone on airplane mode for the entire duration of the festival (that is, until i lost my fam on more than one occasion. lol)

this festival was different than any other i’ve experienced. for the very first time, people were coming up to me because they recognized me from my blog, youtube channel, and/or twitter. i wasn’t expecting this at all.

it started on friday just before slander’s set (which, by the way, was in fact life-changing) when someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, “bebe? you’re the youtuber!” my jaw actually dropped as i went in to give this guy the biggest hug ever. he said that he was the one who commented on my set times video saying that he was also stuck between the excision/A&B conflict, and that i responded saying we’d solo both sets together.

this moment made my night, and was one of many more to come. throughout the rest of the weekend, i got to meet so many more followers from different platforms. it’s an amazing feeling to be able to put faces to names and talk to people as if you’re already family. and that is, because, we are.

i wanted to come on here and say that if i met you this past weekend, even if it was for a brief moment, please know that our interaction meant more to me than you could ever understand. i feel so lucky to be part of a community that embodies so much positivity, kindness, friendship, peace, love, unity, and respect. this whole experience reminded me exactly why i do this; why i created these platforms, why i started building this brand, and why this is my passion project.

edco is my last festival for a little while, but just know that there is still so much more to come. thank you to everyone who made this the experience of a lifetime. there’s no question that i’ll be back under the electric sky again with you all next year.
