Repairing a tinkertool to 100%

A quest requires you to repair a tinkertool to 100%. The problem is, when you click "repair" on a tinkertool, it only repairs to 99.5%!  This is because, in the latter situation, you're using the tool to repair itself.

Solution:  Get a second tinkertool. Put it in the same bag as your original tinkertool.  Drag one over and drop it on the other.  Done.

To get a second tinkertool, you can either buy one or ask someone to loan you one.

I can't get this darned Tinkertool to 100%!

You've got that quest--the one where you have to repair a tinkertool to 100%, but you only seem to be able to get it to 99%.  What's happening?

Well, when you click on a tinkertool and select "repair", it is being repaired by itself! And it can only fix itself to 99% because that last 1% is being used...to repair itself.

What you need is a second tinkertool. You drag one of them over to the other so that the first is being repaired by the second; that way, the one being repaired can be fully repaired.

Note: if you want to be really silly, drag them back and forth. Eventually you'll have one at 100% and the other at 99% :) I personally carry around two tinkertools in case I have a stupid moment and forget to repair one before it breaks.
