Tino Breaks (Jack Dangers) - It's Christmas Time
D-U-B Dub, a wonderful, funky, beat-driven tribute not only to the genre, but to one of it's founders and innovators, Lee Scratch Perry. The Tino Break's series was a side-project of Meat Beat Manifesto's Jack Dangers, who along with Ben Stokes (DHS), and Mark Pistel, collaborated on the series (originally on 12 inch only, now on CD, mp3, etc. just do a search!) to produce a sample-beat salad with heavy dub and afro-cuban percussion rhythms. The unique, wry humor of Jack and co. is found throughout, especially the samples one hears accompanied by ingenious, yet rootsy, orchestrations like this one.
