it isn't often that mila finds herself running the church's bake sale stand, but her tutoring student cancelled at the last minute, and she suddenly found herself with a free saturday morning. and while most people her age would use that time for an extra hour of sleep or to scroll through tiktok, mila, naturally, turned towards volunteering. she also happens to love the farmer's market they sell at; loves the lively atmosphere that comes when people all over town mingle willingly together and the opportunity to people watch whenever there's a lull. what she doesn't love, however, is whatever the heck is happening now. can only stare at rafe for a moment, jaw slightly dropped and brows furrowed. " —— i'm sorry, what did you just say?"

It shouldn’t bother her, she knows the reason they aren’t sending letters back to her. They probably aren’t allowed or maybe they’re mad she’s out and they aren’t? Either way, it hurt. It felt like everything had fallen apart. She was falling apart. The tears started and they wouldn’t stop so she did what she was good at, destroying things. 

She’s not sure what alerted him to the situation but it wasn’t like she was being quiet about it. Maybe it was the most recent thing? Glass shattering as she hit the mirror again and again until it fell to shards at her feet or maybe it was the sounds of things hitting the walls? Either way, the door flies open and she turns quickly, almost as if she’s ready for a fight. 

She’s tired though, tired of feeling this way so when he crosses the room to her she all but falls into his arms, burying her face against his chest. She wanted the world to stop spinning for a while but she knew it wouldn’t. “I’m all alone, I have nothing left.” Finally leaves her lips, stopping between words as sobs wrack through her frame. She didn’t even have her little sister anymore or her cat. To say losing everything from her life in Canada was taking a toll on her was an understatement.

welcome  mr.  and  mrs.  parker      –    rose  petals  were arranged  to  spell  the  ceremonious greeting  that  adorned  the  california  king  sized  bed  in  the  shape  of  a  heart.    there  was  a  balcony  overlooking  the  ocean  and  marble steps leading up to a jacuzzi tub in the corner of the grand room,    wine  bottles  and more flower petals placed  strategically  around their luxury amenities.    it  was  dreamy,    really,    would  be  incredibly  charming  if  it  wasn’t  for    –    eyes  pause  from  scanning  the  honeymoon  suite,    landing  on  the  male  next  to  her  with  an  impromptu  eyeroll    –    him.    ❛  i  get  the  bed.  ❜    juliet  deadpanned,    lugging  her  suitcase  over  with  a  groan.    (  god  forbid  he  help  her  with  her  bags.    was  chivalry  really  dead?  )    she  still  couldn’t  believe  that  they  didn’t  have  one  single  room  left  open    –    the two of them putting up quite the  fight  with  the  front  desk  concierge which  almost  got  them  kicked  out  entirely.
