Tintinologist since age 7. In 2010 I went to Europe with my family & we did a day trip out to Louvain-La-Neuve specially to see the Tintin Musee in Belgium, it was an awesome experience, as back then the museum was only 6 months old. I bought Milou (Snowy) over there, and the two Thom(p)son figuerines were given to me by my Travel Agent who coincedently is also a huge fan. In return, I bought two huge posters, one of The Black Island for me, and Crab with the Golden Claws for him.
I can't imagine myself ever leaving the Tintin Fandom.
The amount of Fandoms, Fandom Characters and Actors that I have left or forgotten about after thinking that I would stay with them forever is quite shocking.
But Tintin is different. I will always be a proud Tintinologist and although I can never hold Tintin himself in my arms, he will stay in my heart for the rest of my life - and that's a promise.
Would Tintin´s real fans please stand up?
I´m really tired at complains of anti-slash Tintin fans who believe we don´t really care about him. This is a complete nonsense. If so why should we waste time drawing/writing Tintin slash? People who don´t care about a character simply don´t write or draw anything about it. I´ve read recently a discussion on Tintinologist.org in which a member complained of the homophobic comments of another member, who said that opinions about Tintin being gay were "disgusting". The other member said although Hergé didn´t have that idea in mind, if one day could be evidence of that (as an hypothesis, of course, I don´t think it will ever happen) he would never think different of Tintin. Gay or straight, it would be always the same Tintin. What does this have to do with people thinking we don´t care about Tintin? Everything. If there was some evidence of Tintin being gay, we would see who were truthfully the real Tintin´s fans, who really cared about him. So yes, we care a lot about him. Believe it or not.
