The Garden State
Decided to jump back into tumblr-ing as I try not to wake up my daughter. So tricky sharing a hotel room with a little one who has a 8 pm bedtime!
We’re in New Jersey to see my grandfather, so we flew into Trenton Mercer Airport yesterday. Super cheap nonstop tixs, and actually easier for me to get to NJ family that way vs NYC or PHL. Only downside is that even renovated, the airport is essentially made up of a couple of shed-looking structures in the middle of a random field. I’m not sure there’s air traffic control right on site, for instance. I mean, there must be, but these are the kinds of things you doubt!
When you get your baggage from the baggage shed, two windows open at the back of the shed, and two workers who you can’t really see just chuck your stuff through. There’s kind of a metal trough thing for them to land on, but people see their suitcase about to get launched and then wave, “here, here” and try and catch it. This whole vibe does not exactly ease an anxious flyer, FYI!
