I redid my avatar after falling in love with the way it looks in my Tomodachi Life game lol. Very happy with it now though, and it can emote pretty easily as well!

Consider this an update post. Struggling with burnout, lack of motivation, lack of energy, etc. etc. etc.

I have been developing stuff in the meanwhile but sometimes actually providing updates to the public is so exhausting. Part of me wants to also make a bluesky since it seems reach is pretty wide over there but that'd just be another account to be obligated to.

Man, I just found a really useful feature in the newest version of Godot so I guess I'm updating. I don't like updating the engine mid projects. I'm always wondering which arbitrary feature that has become the crux of an entire system of mine becomes deprecated each version. Like I appreciate the new stuff that works better and the fixes to stuff that didn't work very well but man, can they like... slow down? Every couple weeks it feels like there's a new version.

Been playing some dragon quest games and godddd are the monsters so interesting and well designed. All of the silly puns and speech quirks they give them just heighten it all imo too. It makes me hella jealous to have an enemy roster like that.

I realize saying that about Akira Toriyama characters is like saying "man i wish i could sculpt marble like michelangelo in his prime" but it doesnt make me yearn for those design chops any less.

Anyone else obsessed with the visual style of the Animal Island minigame from the GCN Animal Crossing? I wish they did more with this aside from that game and the Japan exclusive e-reader minigames that probably weren't a lot of fun to begin with.

Feeling choice paralysis rn. Not sure which projects I want to work on at the moment. I kind of want to make an RPG.

What would be good for me is if I made a robust and reusable dialogue system since talking to funni goiys is always a priority in my ideas. But I dont feel like it lol

Wow shining force 3 is one of the most gorgeous video games I've ever seen.

Wish I could make stuff that looks like this lol. Its kind of exactly the kind of look I love. The characters are wonderfully designed and lovingly prerendered, and the 3D environments are the perfect balance between simplistic geometry and detailed scenes.

Man, I had a week off of my kinda shitty job and had so much inspiration for projects but now that I'm back working I feel no motivation, especially for big things like large environment renders...

Nothing like getting immense inspiration for your project on a car ride out to a vacation.

The trip will be fun but... i wanna work on stuffs :C
