The day could accurately be described as Hell. They still didn’t have a name for whatever substance the alien caught in that explosion had ended up spilling everywhere but Gwen could still smell it, could feel it in her hair even after two showers and getting everyone to touch it and assure her it was gone.

Tosh had been close to the scene as well and, with sufficient complaining, Gwen got them both dismissed for the evening. It would have made sense to go to their seperate cars, step into yet another bath in their seperate homes, and try to sleep but a more pressing need than rest or cleanliness was comfort.

Gwen didn’t hesitate- she didn’t think twice about it, just grabbed for her friend’s hand with the offer ready, but then an even better plan crossed her mind. She looked up at the stars in the night sky and gestured emphatically with her free hand for Tosh to do the same. “Look at that,” she grinned. “I never get to see that - not when I’m calm enough to focus on it, anyway.”
