I left the mountains behind and set off with my friends Emma and Jonas towards Uzbekistan. After a thorough search and a night on the Afghan border at Termez, we arrived into Samarkand, one of the legendary Silk Road cities. This is the Gur-i-Amir, mausoleum of Tamerlane.
