This is my story for the MCYT Story Prompt thing made by @bittydragonâ and @wren-writes68â. Please note that iâm used to a very different writing form? I donât know the exact word but I write a lot of angst mainly for a Wattpad story I've been working on since September 16th, 2020. So this was a little out side of my comfort zone, anyway! Please enjoy the short fanfic.Â
One final thing, the title is cheesy and makes no sense, I couldnât think of anything good.

Tommy was well aware of how often he got into troubling situations and being around 5 inches tall didnât help his situation at all. Heâd get stuck in jars and almost swallowed up by the snakes that roamed the tall grass around his home. Tubbo would somehow always catch him before he fell or comfort him after a bad dream, heâs been having those a lot more since he returned from the afterlife.Â
He may have had his own area to sleep but he favored being near his giant friend it helped him have less night terrors. So waking up in a cold sweat was no different that it had always been but... He noticed that lack of warmth next to him. Slowly crawling to the edge of the cold mattress Tommy noticed the small wet spots on Tubboâs pillow, tears.. Clearly tears.Â
He reached and gripped the small string they had attached to the head board and slid down to the soft carpet below him. Once he landed he was rather quick to dart across the open ground and to the door. It was cracked open clearly violating their normal routine of keeping it closed more than less confirming his speculation that his large friend was upset.Â
âTubbo?â Tommy called out into the hall, he was quiet even if he did yell if Tubbo wasnât near, he wouldnât hear it. He walked out a cold chill running down his back as he looked around the open space. He heard quiet sniffles from the location of the living room, it was gonna be a bit of a walk for him but if it meant helping his sensitive friend it was worth it.Â
He shivered like crazy, his small body not really made for the cold weather that surrounded their home. He doesnât understand how Tubbo and especially Michael can deal with this considering they are more built for warm climates. Tommy got to the hard wood and started to follow the sounds of crying.Â
He walked under the table that sat next to the kitchen peering into the open space noticing a curled up form leaning against the cabinets. Tubboâs knees were buried into his chest along with his head nessling into the crook of his arm. Tommy felt a physical pain in his chest from seeing that state of his closest friend, and he absolutely despised it.Â
Waking in the direction of the whimpering boy in order to keep from spooking him and making it worse, he gently placed his hand on Tubboâs hand that had been resting on the floor.Â
âTubbo? Can you hear me?â He asked quietly when the boy flitched from the sudden contact. He gently moved his hand in a circular motion in order to calm him down when a whimper had come as a response to his question.Â
âItâs fine if you can't Tubs, I just need you to look at me.â Tommy said as he watched him with sad eyes, Tubbo moved a little, his head lifting up just enough to make eye contact with him, his eyes were red and puffy making it clear it had been a while since this started.Â
He looked into the bright blue eyes, his hands continuing the soothing motion in order to keep the Ram hybrid from spiraling back into himself. âTubbo, can you breathe for me?â He asked as he listened to his labored breathing.
The taller boy nodded in response as he tried to calm down, Tommy kept rubbing his hand as he watched him slowly begin to uncurl and give himself better posture which in return would make it easier for him to calm down. He gave a sigh of relief as he crawled onto Tubboâs hand and gently moved to try and crawl up his sleeve.Â
âW-wait.â The taller boy finally spoke, his voice shaking as he gently lifted Tommy up to his knees. âI-iâm sorry if I woke you up..â the smaller man smiled a bit before returning to his defensive attitude.Â
âYou better be Tubs, though I'll let it go this time, you shouldn't beat yourself up.â He told him before crossing his arms and tapping his foot. âNow, are you gonna tell me what this is about?â he asked before he was picked up by the still sniffling Tubbo and placed on his shoulder as he moved into a more comfortable position.
âI-i just had a nightmare, nothing important.â The quiet brunette said his voice still shaking as he clearly wanted to just push past this. Tommy sighed, as much as he wanted to know what was going on he knew better than to push him for information.Â
âAlright, how are you feeling?â He asked putting his hand onto the taller boy's neck gently rubbing his familiar circular motion on the back of it.Â
âIâm better.. Can we go to bed?â He told Tommy as he wanted nothing more than to lean into the attention. The smaller blonde nodded in agreement before Tubbo stood up making sure Tommy was alright and holding on beforehand.
Once the two of them had returned to the room, making sure the door stays closed this time. Tubbo laid down at a slight angle holding Tommy against his chest letting a blanket cover his lower body as he rubbed in crucial motions on the tinyâs back.
âTubbo, stop rubbing my back.. I donât need that right now. I should be doing that to you, youâre the one who was crying.â he muttered in response to the movement while laying on his stomach as he used his small hand to trace circles on the giant's palm in order to get him to stop. Â
It took a little while before Tubbo eventually fell asleep, Tommy had wanted to wait for him to be out before even thinking about getting rest himself. At least he had managed to get Tubs to calm down and return to his sense of self.Â
His own eyes fluttered shut as he gave a relaxed sigh enjoying the body heat that surrounded him as he gave away into sleep. The two of them could finally relax and have a moment of peace even if itâs with both of them unconscious.Â
