Thank you to the people who contributed to this! I know I could’ve gotten way more responses if I made a post saying ‘PLEASE RESPOND TO MY SURVEY FOR A NEW PROJECT’, but I wanted to see how many of you were curious or dedicated enough to click a read more and then a mysterious link. You’re the ones who will probably enjoy what I have planned most, so it’s only right that you got most influence over it. I will genuinely keep your decisions in mind as I plan The Illusion of Choice(s) over the next month. Here’s hoping I actually finish it.

First off I love your writing, especially your take on Mystrade. Will you be completing their arc in the Illusion of control series?

I do have plans to come back and finish their arc. There’s not much left, to be honest. I want to have them share a heat, make everything wonderful, and then write an angsty little fic where Greg and Mycroft want to bond...but because of the damage Mycroft’s done with his use of suppressants, it’s really difficult and next to impossible for a bond to “take”.  They go through a couple of Mycroft’s heats with Greg trying to bond with him- giving him the bite and all that- but it doesn’t work and Mycroft’s just in pain from the attempts and it doesn’t bring them closer together or tie them to each other. Cue stress and strain, but since I always write a happy ending we’ll see everything work out.

So you see? I have it planned out. I just gotta write it lol. That’s the hard part.

Same. Started before the crack of bloody dawn, but at least we caught the murderer this afternoon. So that’s something good.

Think we’ll be able to meet sometime this week for dinner? Even if it’s just an hour? I miss you.

Mycroft stares at the little words on the screen, the enormity of what he’s feeling in response impossible to put into mere text message format. He scrolls through Greg’s previous messages over the last two weeks, noting his concern that Mycroft’s working himself too hard, and the cheery perseverance to be understanding even when it’s clear Mycroft has let him down by continuing to cancel their plans. Guilt pricks his conscience.

I am sorry we have been unable to see each other these last couple of weeks. MH

Mycroft hesitates, fingers hovering over the keyboard, then steels his resolve.

I know this separation is my fault and, in truth, I am not sure how much longer I will be kept occupied as I currently am. If you would prefer not to want to wait for my schedule to clear and would rather find someone else to spend your time with, I would be understanding. MH

It’s not a lie. Mycroft would be understanding.

He would also be totally devastated.
